The way I understand homebrew is you only need to tool, but it varies by platform. You would still need to enable developer mode as they state "developer mode enabled or rooted webOS TV"

For your information, I installed on a series 7 TV (webOS 3.5) but, alas, all I get is a black screen with a white border. Not compatible, I assume.

As mentioned here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid588291, I need to do a couple of manual steps to enable it for your specific TV. Send me a PM if you'd like me to do this, and I'll let you know the couple of bits of information I need. Without me doing this, you'll just get that black screen.

Thanks sub, that got it working. Unfortunately, it has stopped working - black screen again. Is this because my dynamic IP has changed? If that's a requirement for continued function, it's quite the showstopper.

I did have an opportunity to watch one recorded program. From that brief experience, it worked mostly well, and I was pleased to see commercial skipping. However, I started watching a show while it was still being recorded, about fifteen minutes in, and it seemed to have a lot of trouble once I got to the fifteen minute mark. Particularly, skipping forward no longer worked and moving ahead to positions on the progress bar just took me back to the place I was trying to skip from.

The old PVR plugin on MrMC (abandoned KODI fork that should no longer be for sale in the TVos app store) has a similar problem. Once you hit the place where the recording was when you started watching, playback just quits and returns you to the GUI. I have not yet had a chance to watch a show with recording in progress on my TV with an up to date KODI frontend.

There were a lot of changes in pvr.nextpvr since McMC so it should be able to do in-progress properly now.
