TV Listings 2 - Support Thread

Hi,

Here is a PrintScreen of the Listings. The Guide "East Feeds" has four stations in it and TV Listings is configured to display 7 stations.

In case you are wondering why I have so few stations in a custom guide, my cable company picks the programming for these stations off of the East Coast feeds while all the other stations are from the West Coast feeds. To see the "prime time" show schedule I have to look three hours earlier for these stations than I do for the others.

okay, it seems that the lower rows are showing the data from the guide that was selected before and are not cleared. I'll fix that for the next release.

I have a question about tv recordings. Does that come built into the tvlistings files? Is it a new plugin or does it enhance the existing recordings? Is it on the menu or do you call it from TV listings? How do I install it?

Sorry, but I was unsure about those things from the wiki and from the 5-6 forum pages I read.

the tv recordings is somehow built into the tv listings assembly, so there is no need to install an additional plugin. Once tv listings is put into the "plugins\tv listings" subdirectory, you can enable or disable the both the tv listings and tv recordings screen in the plugins section of the gbpvr config application.

I installed the newest tvlistings and when I get into the menu and pick tv listings I get nothing at all. The only way I can tell something has changed is that the next recording is overlayed at the bottom. I'm using community skin btw. HELP I'm totally freaking out, no EPG now.

You mean when you go into tvlistings, the EPG is blank?
do you have a working epg in the standard tvguide?
check all the settings for tvlistings in config.exe.
try blue skin to eliminate any possible skinning issues (although it works fine in CS3 on my pc)

check the log files to see if there is any useful info or errors.

yes, I'll bet that this is caused by an incompatible or misconfigured skin. As already suggested by gEd, try to switch to the blue skin temporary and check if it's still not working.

In any case, as already suggested by gEd, too, attaching the pvrx2.exe.log file helps in further debugging.

I'm attaching a log that I think shows the problem. Looks like skin related. Is there anything to be done? I really don't like blue, but I'll try to switch it temporarily.

It works in blue, so I guess it really was skin related. Now, how do I get it to work in community skin.

Also, it's been real "crashy" lately.

try to update to the latest community skin, if you have not already done it, or try to re-install the skin.

I have installed TV listings on my main GBPVR server & it works well. I have also installed it on my client pc. When I go into TV Recordings the shows are listed fine, but there is no option to play the recording. Recordings play fine on the server & also play fine on the original Recordings plugin.

Am I missing a setup here somewhere?

the descriptions for the dummy-"no show details"-programmes are citations from the famous chuck norris facts (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Norris_Facts ) - I just wanted to display something for those gaps in the guides.

to be honest, I don't think that playback works in client mode at the moment, as the plugin checks if the file exists when deciding if the "play" button is shown - and the path loaded from the database points to the file on the server from the server's kind of view. When I get the time, I can have a deeper look, but for the moment I'd suggest to stick with the default recordings plugin on a client.
