Well, I tried playing it my sister-in-law's computer and it worked fine. Seems to be a specific codec is possibly screwing it up.

I have the Free K-Lite codec installed. I am going to uninstall it and just install PowerDVD and see if it works that way.

It sounds like a retime issue. Do the comcleaned files work before you burn them on DVD?

I'm using Comclean 0.0.6. I don't do a retime. And the files play fine on GBPVR before I burn them to DVD.

But....... I uninstalled the K-Lite Codecs, and installed PowerDVD V6.0. So now the DVD plays perfectly with PowerDVD, VLC and GBPVR. WMP is still choppy. The XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility says it is using PowerDVD. Yet, the DVD is still choppy in WMP.

As long as it's not choppy in GBPVR, I'm fine with it. But I always thought I remember sub saying that if it plays in WMP, it will play in GBPVR. But this seems like an opposite case Smile

I think sub is talking about if there is a direct show filter to allow it to play, it will play in GB-PVR. No guarantees about whether it is choppy or not in one or the other. That said I thought WMP used the overlay renderer, so I would have expected it would be ok since that uses the least CPU cycles.
Which renderer are you using?

In GBPVR I am using VMR9, because I am having some weird problems using VMR9 Custom.

I have no idea what setting WMP is using.

I'm pretty sure it uses overlay. I'm surprised that VMR9 works better given that everything else is the same, but I suppose depending on the video card and drivers that could be true.

yep, sounds like ya need retime....or cut using mencoder or something that redoes the timestamps...gbpvr will play many messed up files just fine..Smile
problem is, dvd players usually adhere to the standards sometimes painfully rigidly..and yet others will play almost anything..

the cutting has to be accurate and the timelines readjusted after, for it to work reliably in dvdplayers..

i wish someone would come up with a util that just repairs the timelines...
it would get lots of use..Smile
it's really best done by the program that cuts it..i believe free cutterman does it properly, and a few others, video-redo, and other commercial programs..

Yeah, WMP uses Overlay "out of the box" but you can make it use VMR - not sure if it's 9 or 7 though.

Under Tools, options, Performance, Advanced - Use Video Mixing Renderer & use overlays (although these can both be checked at the same time - so maybe it is not what I'm thinking of)

Thanks

Not sure what I'm missing ...

Downloaded 2.5 and ran ShowBurner2.exe.
It asked me for a temp directory.
Then asked me for my DVD burner device.
Then popped up the message:

Quote:Line 0 (File "C:\Program Files\ShowBurner\showburner2.exe"):
runwait($showburndir & "\snr.exe" & " burndvd.bat showbdir """ & $showburndir & "\""" )
Error: Unable to execute the external program.
The system cannot find the file specified.

I presume there is a prerequisite or 2 I am ignorant of??

The program creates a ShowBurner folder, a file called config.bac, and sqlite3.exe ... all in the GB-PVR folder. The ShowBurner folder is empty. There is no burndvd.bat file that I can find and no snr.exe.

Please advise.

sounds like your antivirus is pooping on my executable...
about a month or so ago, i noticed some of my auto-it exe's were getting mistaken for viruses because of the compression used in the exe stub, and even tho they were wrong, some antiviruses falsely denied them working...
Auto-it changed the exe stub code so this wouldn't happen, but i think i forgot to re-compile one of the other files in there..Smile

i believe it's happening on the snr.exe file...
so try turning off the antivirus for a second it should install, after that let me know if it still has problems, and i'll upload you a new exe.. you can turn the av back on after install..

i assure you there's no virus, it just looks similar to one because of the compression..
i'll have to recompile all of it and repost i guess...

but there could be something else happening..check your config.xml for ffmpeg profile entries..and i believe must be a admin to install..
