Hi,
scb147 Wrote:Maybe I'm not understanding, but how do you get to LiveTV if you are looking at listings that are 10 days in the future? Is there a button within TV Listings you can press to go into LiveTV without selecting a show from TV Listings?

Is it possible to add a setting to make it refresh whenever it is activated? I am one who would always like the listings to be for whatever the current time is. But only when the screen is reactivated (like returning from LiveTV).

You should be able to press the "Play" button anywhere in the listings. If a recorded show is highlighted, it will be played back, otherwise live tv on the current channel is initiated.

For the "refresh" thing, I'm not sure if the plugin is activated (i.e. activate() is called by gbpvr) when returning from live tv, otherwise I think I don't have any chance to recognize returning from live tv from inside the plugin, but I'll take a look at the weekend.

I'm actually planning on making sure all the tweaks work with TV Listings too. Including the PostUpdateEPG program (If it's still doing that)

I'm actually going to do it from within Ultra.

I agree, too many utilities can cause headaches. I'm trying to make this an all in one

Ideally it would be great to be shown at the start of the description.

I'm currently working with whurlston to make the date handling in Ultra work properly (currently dates limp along). It should be a matter of days...

I did not know about the "Play" button doing this... I don't think I have ever tried it on a show that was currently showing though...

Thanks for looking into the "refresh" thing.

As long as you are looking into the "refresh" thing, I have noticed that the original TV listing program in GBPVR moves the entire grid every hour or so, but TVListings does not. For example, if I load the listings at 7pm and do other things for 2 hours, the cursors indicating the current time scroll across the screen and will eventually move off the right hand side but the left edge of the screen still has the 7pm hour as the first column shown. It is definitely not a big deal, but it would be nice to have the utility refresh this screen every 1/2 hr or 1hr to move the past columns off and bring in the new upcoming information. If it is too much trouble to change this, I'd say skip it as it is a minor issue, but if it is essentially the same code you are already looking at, it would be a nice upgrade.

I had a quick look and it seems that there's no easy way to determine the return from live-tv event by the plugin, so there's nothing I could do for the moment, sorry.

Lately, I have been getting the following error in my CONFIG.exe log. Can you help me fix whatever is bothering the program?

alibert,

I'm trying to rework the TV Listings and TV Recodings (layouts and look) for the new CS4. I'd really appreciate it if you could just have a quick look over what I've got done so far and see if you can spot any obvious flaws. Attached is both a HD and SD version, the primary difference between the two is a slightly different layout optimized for 16:9 and 4:3 display formats respectfully

Also I've got a couple of questions. I think I've been able to reference all the text styles to ones used in the baseskin.xml, that way if a user alters text sizing through the plugin it will reflect in your plugins. The only one I can't reference is the "DescriptionTextStyle" test style in the detailspopup.xml. Can you think of any way to reference this to the "DefaultTextStyle" in the baseskin.xml?

In the TV Listings skin.xml, for aesthetical reasons, the timeline placement is not 100% horizontally. I think this is causing the "@statusHighlighting" to render incorrectly. I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

And lastly would you like the TV Recordings panel to be enabled as default in CS4? I ask because it isn't in blue, but if you prefer we can add the panel reference to the mainmenu options.

Cheers

I'm not sure (I'm having the same error in my logfiles), but I think the error appears because the config application is trying to store the name of all plugins in a dictionary to show them in the plugins list afterwards, and the name TVRecordings is found both in the tv recordings plugin iteself and the tv recordings panel implementation. I'd say you can safely ignore this error, but to get rid of it, you may have to ask sub if there's a problem when iterating over the installed plugins.
