New XMLTV Enhancer and more...

Series and Episode numbering works a treat for all of the shows that I have tried except the Law and Order shows. My original xmltv.xml output by the grabber (Birtles) has shows called:

<title lang="en">Law and Order: Criminal Intent</title>
<title lang="en">Law and Order: Special Victims Unit</title>

I have fiddled for hours and I can't get Series and Episode numbering to work consistently for these shows. I have tried changing the "and" for "&" using the Replacements button and tried with and without the colon characters.

The attached contain the EpFetchInclude, Replace and log files plus all of the Law and/& Order files from the TVdbXML folder.

I didn't know what you were talking about when you said 3:00PM , but now I know you scheduled a show. What's the show name?

Er, I mean "Wishbone." Since it only recently started happening, I didn't make the connection at first until, "Duh, the second episode records every day at 2:30 to 3:00pm." Unless the error window is on a timer and goes away after awhile so I don't see it, (don't think so), the morning airing of the show has always been renamed correctly.

I THINK it started happening when the second episode of the day was different than the morning episode. As far as I know, (only been recording it for maybe three weeks), before this week the 2:30pm episode was always just a repeat of the 8:30am episode. Renamer sometimes renames that second episode the same as the first even if it's different, while other times it only puts "Wishbone" + the date.

That's the only Renamer error I get, so it's probably a PBS info or fluke thing.

Of course, after writing the above post, I looked at the HTPC screen and see another error 6 from last night sometime. Wishbone wasn't on. There are no errors listed in Enhancer's log.

Like what it's been doing with Wishbone, it looks to have renamed the files properly, but gives the error for some reason. Maybe if it starts doing it more I can pick up what's triggering it.

If I get this right, it's actually the very same episode that is being recorded twice. That means the Ranamer is renaming the first ok and colliding with thr previously renamed file when it tries to rename the second, exactly named file..

Anyway if it's a file collision, I can tweak the logic on that. So I need to know the final output name of the first wishbone, and the season episode info for both the first and second rfecordings of wishbone.

You've given me the right stuff I think. I didn't check file collision code for file extensions, I will. As far as why is a certain show named differently, we'll have to dig.

BTW those xml snippets are not checked with renamer. Rename just takes the title and the sub_title and glues them together. That means that the season episode info is already checked prior to renaming..

Have you been able to get basic Enhancement working?

If we need to get to the basics, we might have to.

Remember,
first grab,
then manually test enhance,
check temp file for enhancements,
when good, commit changes,
then update EPG.
Then check TV Guide...

All this assumes there is nothing in Update EPG bat...

If these steps do not work, then do not use renamer (remove it from your PostProcessing.bat...) and do not use manager and do not setup updateepg or task schedule....

I do get the episode duration in the EPG after Enhancer. Here is the info for the same episode from the original EPG file and then after Enhancer. This after-Enhancer one looks the same regardless of how many info boxes I checkmark. It adds the episode duration even with no boxes checked.

OK That means the the Enhancer can make something happen but it's not pull the duration out of the original, it's doing it's own math.

That leads me to think you do not have any actions set for Enhancing..

For example, Ratings - Add Category, Credits - append to desc, episode num prepend to subtitle...

Yeah, a few days ago I said I don't know if I'm missing some magical checkbox or what. I can checkmark all of those and get the preview window to change, but the EPG/temp EPG won't.

I just checkmarked every box and made them all either add category or Append to Desc, etc, and none of that extra info goes into the temporary EPG it makes, and the temp EPG is a smaller size than the original.

You're missing something all right. You don't touch the check boxes at all... They just check to show you what data you have to play with. What you have to do is select an action from the drop down boxes.

Anyway send me your regsettings txt file. I will fix it if it's wrong...

This will be solved in a matter of minutes...
