okay, now we're back to the 'Horizontal size is greater than permitted in specified Level' error which is easy to fix. The next version will pretty much be to fix this problem, but finding some free time will be tricky.

I got recording working with Moonlight, but the screen is very blue. (Everyone's face is blue, etc.) I can't find a way to adjust color with Moonlight. Is there a way to do it? Would it help to send you the log file?

I suspect the default capture settings are not loaded when the system user loads the capture device. i.e. it's not moonlight, but the fact that the capture card is not being used by your own user, but by the system service account.

Maybe try running the recordingservice as your user?

easy way: (stop recording service), then run (from the command prompt), "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRRecordingService.exe run", this will launch the recording service as the current user for approx 3 days (but long enough to test the blue face problem)

hard way: open control panel>administration tools>services, find gb-pvr recording service, open properties, select the Log On Tab, and change to this account, and enter your account details)

not sure, but around 640x480 seems to be the limit. Some people are finding that the default output size of their capture card is bigger than this, which is breaking the encoder (yours is also doing this btw). This I plan to fix by adding the quality setting in the plugin config options.

updated the #1 post :-) as you may have noticed I had already gone back and edited it - it's usefull to be able to send people to the wiki directly so they don't have to dig through the entire thread to find the download.

Intel 1.8GHz
512MB RAM
Maxtor 300GB HDD (used only for recording)
DVD-Burner
Sound Blaster card
FireWire card
Linksys USB wireless adapter (v2.8)
WinTV-GO model 190 (using the software encorder plug-in for GB-PVR)
Windows XP Pro SP2 (all updates installed)

I installed GB-PVR (most recent version) last weekend and had no problems setting up the system. I am using software decoding plug-in and the Moonlight MPEG2 encoder. I have been able to record shows and watch LiveTV until yesterday.

When I go into the TV Guide and select a show to record, as soon as I press record the program locks (shows it not repsonding in task manager). If I shut down the recording service and GBPVRtray icon the program comes back saying "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". This is with the tray program shut off or activated.

I looked in the GBPVR.exe log the first time it hung and it shows after hitting record it was sending command to reset the GBtray recording service but it locked up. I even reinstalled the program and plugins and reset up the program but it still locks up. If I try to watch LiveTV it locks up the program too. Any ideas? Thanks!

can you post your log files so i can have a look too. if it's locking up even when you're scheduling a record then something is very wierd. it sounds more like a gb-pvr issue than the plugin though.

Hey, I hear that you are the master at setting up the gbpvr software. I have an ATI All in Wonder video card and an audigy2 zs sound card. I installed the software plugin with all the moonlight encoders and set it all up to the best of my knowledge. I got the TV guide to work but I can't get live Tv up. I get an error when I go to live Tv that says, "a device attatched to the system is not functioning". The program thet came with my card works good for watching Tv so it's not the card. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
