New version of SmartTVApploader.zip available at the old link https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9995...loader.zip

Startserver() attempts to start an http server on port 80 but fails. This version may get passed the error.

The new version still has the error, but I stopped the UltiDev web server I had running on port 80, and the SmartTVApploader now launches fine. I am also now able to install the NextPVRWeb Launcher app on my blu-ray player. Thanks for your help.

Great you got it working!

Unfortunately the Samsung dictates port 80 and I can't change that.
The apploader recognizes a local IIS and can use that in place of the internal http server but can't use others like UltiDev or Apache.
You were supposed to get a message box saying "Failed to start App Sync Server on this machine", "Probable cause is that an other web server is active on your machine."

I will try to fix that.

Thanks for your help in nailing the error!

My photos plugin shows photos full screen with a solid black background. In the NextPVR UI on my PC, it fills the entire screen with black and the default NextPVR time/date in the upper right corner is hidden as expected. In the Samsung app, there is a small blue border around the black and the time/date is not hidden. On the NextPVR home screen in the app, I can also see that the background image doesn't quite fill the entire screen. This is the case for the app on both of my devices, TV and blu-ray player. Is there some kind of "UI Zoom Percent" equivalent for the app?

Thanks for the feedback.

Date and time is in the UI image from server, nothing I can do about it.

The border and not filling the entire screen will be fixed for the next version.

There is some zooming going on in the background to tackle devices different screen size.

This app doesn't seem to work too well for me on a Samsung UN32H5203. I was able to install the app and get the web guide up and running, but the keyboard/mouse controls don't function very well (sometimes it works poorly, other times not at all)...

I downloaded the latest files and installed everything per the instructions (I think) and was only able to actually to watch a channel once, before the keyboard and mouse (both USB driven and using the TV remote) seems to lock up.

Any suggestions?

Sure it's not a UN32... Are you using wired networking?

Well, I can't recall having heard of this behavior before.

You didn't mention what versions your on and if you are using the “NextPVRWeb Launcher 1.200” or the standalone app “NextPVR Web 0.264”.
For my suggestions I just I assume you're using the Launcher setup since that is what I promote these days.

These are the things to check:

1: Installed version NextPVR 3.3.8 (earlier versions may work, but to be on the safe side...)

2: Restart the NextPVR service

3: Use a wired connection if possible (shouldn't have any noticeable impact on navigating but playback experience will always be better)

4: Try connecting to the app from your desktop browser (chrome)
http://your-server-ip:8866/touch3/client3.html
This will tell if the navigation problem is client side related or something else.

While the app is running on the Samsung check these things:

1: In settings (0-0-0) check version is 0.27.3

2: If you hit the “info button” four times some basic debug info will show.
The first number is the last key code the app sent to NextPVR.
The second number is the key code the app received from your remote or keyboard.
These numbers would change whenever you hit a different button.
If the numbers change when you hit different buttons but the UI doesn't respond this will probably mean there are network or server side issues.

3: If the numbers don't change when you hit different buttons the problem is in the client app.
In that case you may want to try to install an earlier version of the app, I'd suggest 0.26.4.

Thanks Fred for your response!

Admittedly, I am a newb when it comes to Samsung apps. In this case I think I am doing something terribly wrong here and as you probably can tell, I am quite confused.

I am using NPVR 3.3.8 and have tried both 27.3 and 26.4 versions of the app. I am using Gigabit wired ethernet from server to TV. The server is based upon an Intel E8400 dual core cpu running W8.1 pro.

After going through the install process using "SmartTV app loader" I was able reach the http://my-server-ip:8866/touch3/client3.htm webpage from my desktop.

On the TV, I started Samsung's web page, entered the same URL and saw a screen where it asked me to enter the server IP, which I did.

After a few seconds, the NEXTPVR UI page was displayed and I selected guide via a usb mouse and the guide was displayed. After that, channel selection and associated controls became very unresponsive when using either mouse or keyboard.

I could use the on-screen buttons with the mouse to navigate the UI somewhat, but the buttons went across the middle of the screen. When I selected a channel to watch, it would take over a minute to get a live picture and when the picture did appear, the on-screen buttons still were in the middle of the screen, blocking portions of the picture. Navigation was very difficult. Something doesn't seem right.

Question: Should there be an "app" available for this in Samsung's Smart Hub as is for Reven's app? If so, I could not find one and the only way to get to the NEXTPVR UI is through the Samsung's web page - Here is point of my confusion.

Also, I was not able to locate an "info or settings button" anywhere at any time during this process.

I am afraid I might be doing something wrong. I think I am missing a step or two in this adventure?
