Hello!
I have been following this thread and all it's progress ever since it was first started. I have a small question though, what kind of CPU power is required for flawless MPEG2 encoding?

nosedive1983: master, bah, more like lucky :-) logs logs logs, zip them up and send them to me. (sorry i can't do miracles, but i can sometimes translate weird computer logs into English)

dito: I have a 2.8ghz, and doing recording with all the defaults (that's the only option at the moment) uses about 20% of my CPU power. So you're looking at around 600Mhz - and that's just to do the recording alone. If you want to watch while you record then add extra to that. So for smooth sailing I'd go for a minimum of a 1ghz.

tipstir: it definitely won't work until i get time to stick in recording quality settings. until then previewmode livetv will have to do.

Error: Input string was not in a correct format.
Video Source: S-Video

I keep getting this error on input string not in a correct format, attached is the setting screenshot, I couldn't find any information on it so far, can someone help?

nosedive1983: try build 15 (it has better debugging messages), and then send me the logs again (also include the config logs). Also I don't belive that "What U Hear" is a valid choice. Try something like Line-In. (The later problem seems to be that it can't Pause the recording when changing channels. This is odd, and i may have to add an option so you can choose Stop vs Pause vs Nothing)

edmondt: can you send logs, just sort by modified date, and grab all the .log files that have changed while you were testing. Often getting the config logs too helps. I'm not sure how the error is shown, but if I can a stack trace it helps lots.

edmondt: try and edit the config-recorders.xml and change the crossbarRoutings from -1-1,2-0 to 2-0. The config is obviously not handling video only capture cards particularly well.

Changed it to:

<crossbarRoutings>2-0</crossbarRoutings>

Got Unspecified error.

Check config and input source was set to composite instead of s-video. Change the recording source back to s-video and the crossbarRoutings was set back to -1-1,2-0

Edit: tried 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. no luck yet.
