I have tried this now on a second PC and I still cannot get the channels of the DBox.

When I go into the settings I can test the IP of the DBox but when I click on the 2nd tab to dowload the channels the Software tells me it cannot reach the Box.

When I click on the first Tab again I am then unable to ping the Box...

I am running XP SP2 (UK) on both machines and I use the windows Firewall.

I have also enable both the PVR and the Config program in the Firewall but still same error

2nd Question
I succesfully installed your plugin and I can test the IP of the DBox but when I try to load the channels it fails. I have not got the error message as I am at work at present.

I am using a DBox 2 Sat with a Diseqc for Astra 19,2 & Eutelsat 13 and Astra 28.2

Is a normal ping to your dbox from the commandline answered? Which image is on your dbox? Can you see the web interface of the box (by entering the ip-address in your browser)?

Will this be possible and can I use different EPG sources for UK TV and German TV...?

You can try and add multiple dbox recording sources to gbpvr, and then map the german channels to one epg-source, the english channels to another epg-source. I think that should work.

Hi Alibert,

The name of the Box has something to do with Sport but only as I have a multicam in it for my Sky UK Freeview card.

I think the Image is buggered at present so I will install a Yadi or DietmarW to test it again.

I will also try the Multiple Sources to get the EPG working.

I want to run it later on my Bose Zenega as a Standalone PVR for the Dbox ;-)

I am a bit futher now...

I ahve installed a DietmarW Image and managed to scan and I can receive the BBC's on my PC now.
I can also download the channel List as it was a faulty cat 5 wiring to my DBox.

Problem now,

I mapped the Channels and the EPG but when I go into Live TV the screen shows black that a LiveTV will start but then goes back about 5 seconds without anything happening...

I can't open GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log , only the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-1.log
GBPVRRecordingService.exe-2.log
GBPVRRecordingService.exe-3.log

anything I can check..?

This DBox sounds very interesting......can you recommend any good sites about it. Anything I have found has been in German.

DBoxes are no longer manufactured but you can get them at a well known Auction house.

Make sure you bid for the right one (Cable/Sat) and do not buy a DBox 1 !!

DBox 1 can't to these things and you see the difference on Photos (Display on the left) and 3 Scart Sockets on the back

Make sure that "Use live preview mode when possible" in the config app is not checked. To say anything else, I need your GBPVRRecordingService.log file.

I have now managed to get the DBox working incuding the 28.2 (UK Sat) BBC's etc Program and would now love to add the German Stations.

Silly Question is now what Plugin I would use for the German EPG ?

Another IDEA/Question is that you use Wingrab to receive the Stream.

I am not sure if you are familiar with the Tuxbox Forum and especially the new Webinterface from YJogol (YWeb ) as this now also offers a LiveTV Feature via VLC and the so called VLC Plugin.

As I am not familiar with the technique you are using I thought that you might be interested in that kind of streaming and maybe could use that technology ? I could be talking out of my backsite but I just wanted to mention this. I would love to contact you via Email if possible so we could discuss some ideas ;-)

For some reason this doesn't seem to be working for me, when i go into live TV mode it just says "Starting timeshift Mode TV Please Wait" and stays like that (sometimes it kicks me straight back out to the main menu). I'm using a Dbox2 C with the sportster 1.75 and followed Feathers guide word for word.

Any Ideas?

Attached is my GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log as this can give you much more info than i can.

EDIT: i just had to split the file in 2 as it exceeded maximum upload limit

Have a look at xmltv (sourceforge.net/projects/xmltv).

In an earlier state, the plugin actually used the wingrab-engine, but I wasn't happy with the results (many frames were lost). Maybe I'll add an option to choose which grab engine to use in the future.

Well, I haven't had a look on that, but I think that with this plugin gbpvr should remain the frontend of choice.
