Do you mean change this setting: <MVP16x9Mode>false</MVP16x9Mode> in the config file to set the MVP to 16x9 mode, I can't anything in the Hauppauge software.

It is really there in the hauppauge sw. Afaik it's in the right tab on the hauppauge startscreen. I could be mistaken, maybe it's only there the first time when you reload your dongle. (unplug/plug).

currently, the only way to change the aspect ratio on board the MVP is through the Hauppauge software. Sub was working on something with his own dongle, a while ago, but that fizzled out. Currently the settings in the config.xml are dormant...

Once the GB-PVR service is stopped, and the two Hauppauge services are started, and the MVP is restarted, on your first screen of the Hauppauge software, you see a 'settings' button. There are the 4x3 to 16x3 settings.

This is probably a wild goose chase. But I just wanted to clarify what I was talking about...
