It produces a uuid that when fed into the provider listing on the soap interface gives me a response saying that the stored procedure needed to produce provider listings is failing.

I don't know if this is the same soap interface error that others saw before.

Flyswatta? Is this the same problem?

I dunno - I'm not trying to get a valid UUID, I've been using one from google (testing purposes only Wink ) until someone figures out how to obtain a valid one to use.

here is a new version that should fix the duplicate channel problem. I'm using the rf_channel as channel id now. please let me know if this works.

I missed that in the huge amount of stuff in the last thread too.

However, if you look at the partner pages stuff on titan tv, it looks like they have developed an interface which will accept name, etc. then return a registration, which should have a unique uuid in it...

Somebody more clever than me just needs to write a simple interface that sends them the data they want, then records the data coming back. That would seem to me to be the best way to do it. Easier even than Zap2It where we have to go to their site to register.

Thanks much Keith.
Still the UUID I copied for the pasted image on another thread seems to work but I'm not able to obtain a new one.

http://www.download.com/Titan-TV/3000-11...45889.html

looks like a small app to pull titantv's listing using MCE... can somebody with MCE try out and see if they can get an UUID using this?

Has anyone contacted TitanTV? Maybe they could help us out here? Surely if we all bang on the same UUID they are gonna get pissed.

This corrected my duplicate channel problem also - I won't be able to do it as an EPG update until I get home tonight.

Either that or if they charge-per-use, then someone will get one heck of a bill Big Grin

Also, didn't sub say that it was $12K for a proper license?

I wonder if this is the same thing
http://www.niveusmedia.com/support/TitanTV.htm but it is not dated. Does give some info on Onebox media Center.

I actually wrote them a note earlier, to see if they had plans to embrace the open source alternatives like mythtv.

Their response was:
Thank you for considering TitanTV.com. At this time we are not
considering offering this service to open source DVRs. Or making
anything available to replace Zap2It. Let me know if I can answer any
other questions for you.

Essentially, I think they receive money from the device providers to allow their stuff to work w/ titantv.

So, if we want our stuff to generate uuids we need to figure out what the partnerid, productid and versionid for our actual hardware is so that we aren't violating their terms.

Surely the purchase of a hauppage and receipt of wintv is enough to use the corresponding license legally...

They seem to have a deal with most of the popular capture card manufacturers, so we just need to figure out how to use their interface to generate a viable uuid using the ids for the particular manufacturer of our cards.

hauppage users of the world unite!

that's an old app they used to let you use to d/l 8 days worth of data..
but they stopped that many years ago..now the new MCE plugin is just a link to their site's 'big-screen' guide page.. [just html link]
