Thank you for the help. I was trying to set it up using the instructions on the wiki and got myself all confused. I made changes using the README and everything is working.

The only thing that I am having problems with is that under advanced it doesn't save the VLC recording parameters. Well it does save them but doesn't update what is displayed and if any changes are made on the other options it reverts back to the default. Not a big problem since once it is setup I do not see a need to go back and make any changes.

I can't reproduce this problem. Can you give me a specific example? (ie. what you changed in the recording parms before selecting the Save button and what other options you then changed that caused the recording parms to revert back).

BTW, (Can't remember if I mentioned before) I'm up and running with it now... I uninstalled and re-installed... it's all good now.

So it works fine if I select the stream through the web stream link. I followed the instructions to add it to my channel list, but when I try to watch it, it says " No tuners are available watch the requested channel..." Any ideas? I attached some logs. I have no idea what you need.

Hi;
I've been using GBPVR with a component video cord attached from my video card to my television set. It is a nvidia card and I'm running in dual view mode. This works well and I am able to view television, dvds and videos on my television set. I recently installed UbuStream v2.2 and was able to get it to play some streaming video. Here's the problem. Both the video being streamed and the show-webpage are displayed on the primary monitor, instead of the television. I'm using the pvrx2 interface in the lastest version of gbpvr (10105). From what I've seen this is a fantastic plugin. I just need it to open on the secondary monitor. Is anyone able to help?? :confused:

Both the video being streamed and the show-webpage are displayed on the primary monitor, instead of the television.

This is probably because both the internal players (Preview mode) and the web page option are actually drawing their own form to the screen (overlaying the GB-PVR display) rather than using the GB-PVR "form" to render (like the plugin's menus do, for instance). When using Timeshift mode, on the other hand, the streaming video is played using the GB-PVR video player so will probably show up on your TV.

However, I don't experience this problem because I have my component out TV defined as my primary monitor and my VGA output as the secondary. (I seldom actually attach a VGA monitor because I use Windows remote desktop instead for any maintenance activities, etc.). I think I also read somewhere that you get a better picture by defining the TV as the primary, but that may be "urban myth".

Is it possible to use Timeshift mode? Considering, channel mode isn't functional in this version. If Possible, I assume that I use the external recorder. In order to access timeshift mode, but I'm not sure how to set it up without channel mode. Also, I'm a little confused about what version of Common GBPVR Utilities Library and GB-PVR User Inteface Elements that I am supposed to be using, as the ones on the wiki seem a little outdated. Where do I get the required files?

Is it possible to use Timeshift mode?

Just select "Timeshift Play" instead of "Preview Play" from the station detail panel (the one that comes up when you select a station in the plugin UI). Timeshift Play will attempt to transcode the stream to a mpeg file (using VLC) and to play that file "on the fly" using GB-PVR's video playback. Some streams will transcode OK. Some streams won't.

If you know that a station works with Timeshift play, you can, optionally, set its default playback mode to Timeshift in the UbuStream config app. That way, if you use the Play button in the UI (or on your remote control) to play the station it will automatically use Timeshift.

Considering, channel mode isn't functional in this version. If Possible, I assume that I use the external recorder.

Channel mode is a different thing entirely (although it also uses the Timeshift play mechanism). As far as I know, this was working fine with 99.12 but may not work with the 1.x releases. I haven't had time to investigate why.

Also, I'm a little confused about what version of Common GBPVR Utilities Library and GB-PVR User Inteface Elements that I am supposed to be using, as the ones on the wiki seem a little outdated. Where do I get the required files?

The UbuStream install will copy in the Common Utilities and UI Elements dlls unless it finds a version with a later date. So, if your UbuStream install was successful, you should have compliant versions of the dlls installed. In any case, upgrading to the most recent versions of these libraries on the wiki (at any point in time) should not break UbuStream.
