No, it works fine here. I'm not really sure what to suggest based on that description.

Quote: I also noticed earlier in the thread you mentioned that in the next release (presumably 1.0.16 given the time of the post) that there would be a way to switch off the animations. Did you get a chance to implement this as I may do that if I can't figure out why I'm getting this jerky scrolling?
No, I didnt get around to fixing it. You can see what I mean if you try running the app with the "-noanim" command line parameter.

I too am experiencing the same issue.
When I first start up windows and then PVRX2, everything is fine. But if I go into standy and come out, the menu is very slow, slow motion. This stays this way until I reboot again. What i did notice was that submenus are ok. It's just the main menu that is very slow. Even if i play a video or livetv, it still remains this way.

I haven't tried the -noanim switch as yet, but will give it a go. I'll let you know how it turns out. Other than that, my PVR box is flawless. Please let me know if anyone has an answer to this problem.

Hi Mbox

I have started getting this slow animation effect as well. I had a nicely running system then I started seeing this effect, everything else seems as normal. I get it on any animation, main menu and pop up dialogs.

I'm not sure of the exact timing of when this started but the last two things I did to the system were to add the weather and webcam plugins.
I added the weather as a video plugin, I also changed the country so that programs with non-unicode support get the required character set.
I tried undoing these things, disabling plugins but no improvement.

I just fluked it and hit on something.

I've been listening to music (build in music library), listening to some net radio, and while that has been going on the screenscaver has kicked in (I notice you don't have that so its not a common element), and I have been watching some pictures while the music was playing.

Previous to this I just did one thing, music or pictures !

So I went back to music and hit the stop (even though nothing playing) and I went to net radio and selected web then hit stop (nothing playing still). Tried a menu and magic smooth as a very smooth thing.

EDIT:
spoke to soon back to non-smooth animation and hitting stop doesn't help. Odd - it did something before Sad

Hi

Do you mean a recording from the TV or a different MPEG?

Playing a recording doesn't change it. Today I notice it's smooth again - I've no idea what's causing it.

I've added an auto restart to my config so my machine switches on in the middle of the night, does an epg update, reboots then goes back to sleep. Since I’ve done this I’ve noticed the menus being much smoother – am pretty sure this issue is related to standby/hibernate mode and something GB-PVR not releasing the memory cleanly when coming out of standby. Sorry not technical enough to explain that in any more detail!

My experience has been that the menu scrolling is very jerky after about three days without a reboot.

Immediately after a reboot, menu scrolling is as smooth as silk.

I am not using standby or hibernate at the moment - Note to self: Remember to buy a motherboard battery!

I'm not using standby or hybernate either. I haven't rebooted for weeks and the smoothness comes and goes. Even restarting the recording service and refreshing the epg isn't conclusive.

Same here. I usually get about 3 days worth of smoothness then the animations start to get jerky.
Nothing seems to fix it except a reboot.
I've tried restarting pvrx2, restarting recording service... so far nothing but a reboot fixes the issue

edit: also no standby/hibernation here either
I also don't listen to music on the box. I only watch recorded shows.
