good ideas! let's make following deal: i will add a "play dvd" button to the main-menu and a "copy dvd" - button and make this configurable through the settings-menu. then i will add a "burn iso" - option (probably with the red key on the remote) and point this to a function.

i will implement the grouping function and then you can have the sourcecode, so you can add the burn-ability, ok?

the other way would be to send you the source code right now. you can add the function and the i will go on developing with that function...

ill write the iso burn and dvd copy methods and send them to you.  the iso burn ill just import an image file name, and the writer drive (you'll need to do a config form for your plugin where the user can select their dvd writer/dvd reader) and the dvd copy method will take to strings which will be dvdreader dvdwriter.

i might, have to think about this one, add another method to rip a dvd to hdd, same as subs plugin. those are the 3 main functions i guess, copy dvd, burn iso, rip iso and play iso (handled by ur pretty gui [Image: smile.gif])

maybe for copy dvd popup a menu like subs ripper menu to ripp to location, just have rip to hdd, or burn to dvd.  (always do it in iso mode, so can burn them).

ill start writing the methods tomorrow. shouldnt be that hard, i hope, dvd copy looks pretty easy, theres some problems with an image being to big for a dvd+r (if have a dual layer disc this issnt a problem, but yeah this might be tricky) ill let you know how i get on.

so the config form should have "dvdwriter" "dvdreader" "dvddir"(i think  a specific dvd dir would be better than using the defualt video dir)

sounds good! i'll wait for your methods and in the meantime go on with the plugin.

new version:

- added the ability to play "video_ts" - folders
- group by genre works now, can be triggered through ctrl + y (yellow button on remote)
pressing this button several times goes through the genrelist. try it out!

because of this new function, you have to download a new skin.xml. therefore i packed the whole thing in a new zip-file, which you can get here.

i have quite a lot dvd's, so this function can be quite useful for those having several movies.

i found a bug, not sure if its your plugin or gbpvr, i suspect its a gbpvr error (assuming your using the .playISO() method to play an iso (the name might be wrong i cant remember it off hand, but im sure theres a method). anyways i went to play and it mounted the iso file but played the dvd i had in my dvd drive.

oh but its working now, still having probs with directories, but if iso in root it works, yay! gotta admit im loving this plugin in, (sorry if that sounded like the stupid mcdonalds ad)

ive written the burniso method (takes a string of the absolute iso location as a parameter) and the ripiso (no parameters).  you have to setup a config for your plugin, which requires dvdwriter, dvdreader, dvdpath(location where to store ripped dvds) and (dvddecrypters location).  im stilling working on the dvdcopy method, since i just realised dvddecrypter does have the direct copy ability, you have to rip an iso, then burn that iso. then delete the the temp iso, just working out a few things.

you can get the burn/rip source code here (in a cs file just to keep the layout, and shows the required things) if you have any problems let me know.

oh it doesnt check if the iso will fit on the blank dvd drive (which has to be put in first (i think anyway)) i dont know how to check the capacity of a blank dvd in C# (if anyone knows let me know) and dvddecrypter will throw an error (error msg pops up), could you add to your movie info display the file size of the iso, below the dvd image would look ok, might have to raise it up a bit, but theres room.

ill see if you can make dvddecrypter display no error msgs, and just continue to burn anyways (just so no interaction is required)

One thing I like about my cable's on demand service is the fact you can watch previews... That could be a cool addition. User would just have to put the trailers on the system along with the movie...

reven, thank you for your files. i'll have a look at them. the strange behaviour of the plugin in subdirectories must be fixed, so i'll take a look at that, too.

i should rip a few dvd's to my hd to test it properly.
