Before I switch to XP to try that out, any other recommendations about the stuttering? With my new setup, playing back SD should not be a problem, and this PC will only be used by GBPVR. My Dev is done on my laptop.

Thanks again for your great support sub.

Maybe try running "PVRX2.exe -fse", which runs it in fullscreen exclusive mode. This performs a bit better for some users.

OK - I have finally gotten somewhere. After countless trials, all failing, I decided to remove all ATI drivers from my system and I also removed PowerDVD in order to start from scratch. I then installed the drivers that came with the motherboard CD (instead of the latest Catalyst 7.8 drivers) and re-installed PowerDVD 7, plus I applied csy's registry fix (thanks). Once all that was done - silk as smooth on my computer screen (CRT). I also noticed that my display adapter is now correctly recognized as X1250, whereas Catalyst 7.8 recognized it as X1200. Not sure if this causes a problem or not.

I'm not out of the woods yet as the component connection to my rear-projection CRT is not working so well. I initially had a really blue tint when connected but I resolved that by booting my PC without the VGA connected to my PC monitor. It then detected my component connection as the primary display and the colors are fine. The problem now is that when connected by component or composite (through the riser card that comes with the board) the picture constantly freezes. It freezes for 5-10 seconds, then skips ahead for less than a second and repeats this endlessly.
