How's this...

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG

Apparently, until recently, Australian Law prohibited MS from having an MCE EPG. There have been some alt sources that I'm researching, as well as (hopefully) the new MCE EPG source...

EPG page justs gets better and better... Big Grin

What would you think about the following changes:
Quote:Sometimes, as in the case of Schedules Direct or the UK Freeview, GB-PVR will make this EPG update quite seamless.

I've gone and changed it differently. I realized that there was redundant redundancy. Supposedly if there is a specific wiki page, it will contain specific information. The main page should try and be general. Once folks have found their region, it can get more regional...

Keep it coming though.... Collecting and adding this stuff isn't as bad as I thought...

(getting the Australian stuff together is gonna be fun -- it's a real mess down under - due to that law)

I Like it... however, at the end of the How it should work... section I would say something like
Quote:You should look at the EPG options available for your own region for more specific information.

I am having trouble getting this installed. I subscribed to the service, selected favorites, and selected 6 columns, and favorites.

I downloaded the Zipped files and unzipped them. By default they were unzipped into a temporary file, and I could not even find them.

I changed the unzip routinte and unzipped zap2xml to the desk top. I found a black box with a fleeting glimpse of the code inside. What do i do with this? It is an application file. Not knowing any better, I copied it into the Third Party folder in the Gbpvr folder. However. I cannot find a program to configure, and when i try to load EPG's in the config.app, I get a message that I do not have correct configuration.

I have tried to attach a print screen image of the messagesbut have forgotten how. please help

Edit: My mistake. You are using zap2xml not yapi2xml but I see you found a thread for it.

Hi, I am running the MCE2XML_GUI using Headend info trying various ones from different sources. When I do 'Donwload Listings' it says it finds 535 channels mapped and creates an XML file of arround 62 meg, looks nice and filled up. Then I open the XML file in a text editor and do a search for a known channel, CCTV-9 for example, it finds the Channel id and display name section, at the head of the xml file, but there is no programe data for CCTV-9. This happens also for quite a few other channels, Zone Thriller, Film24, etc. If I try various different Headend's it just gives the same results, No programe data for quite a few channels, I really would like a completely full UK Sattelite EPG. Does anyone know the reason for this and a way to fix it?

Kind regards.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned TVxB at www.tvxb.com (freeware).
It's just a scraper, but has good flexibility, many existing configs, and has worked well for me for several years now. Wink. I know quite a few GBPVR folks use it many countries.

To tweak it needs a bit of reading, and a lot of patience, but it does work well.
