I don't know if GBPVR even uses that setting anymore, but short skips are not supported on mvpmcx2 so please don't use them, use Prev and Next.

Edit. Okay, I found the thread that shows this setting is ignored on the PC http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35173

Martin,

I was wondering if you would have a few minutes to look over my log files again. I switched the FF/Rew back to normal, and they do work now, although like you mentioned they are a bit slow in HD. The main problem I have left is that the Next and Previous functions, which should skip forward 60 seconds and reverse 30 seconds, always restart the Recording back at the beginning. This only happens on LiveTV and recordings in progress. Recordings that have completed work perfectly.

Also, thanks for your other post which included a link to the updated key reference that listed all the PCH key definitions. This was a big help as I am trying to program a remote (using JP1) for the PCH. It mentioned that the F8 key could be used to go directly to the Recordings menu. Is there any way to get there directly with the PCH remote?

Once again, thanks for all of your help. Oh, and by the way, I did upgrade to the latest version this morning before I made a copy of the logs.

Can you send me a directory listing for GBPVR? Also can you run telnet?

There is a why to edit the config.xml to have the hotkey for picture switch to the recordings menu. I think you change this

<DefaultPluginPictures>Recordings</DefaultPluginPictures>

Attached is a directory listing of my GbPvr directory. Also, yes I do have telnet installed on the PCH so I can get you more info if necessary.

The directory looks fine, except it is more a copy then an install of GBPVR components.

What I will need from you is a telnet capture of the session showing the prev and next at work. Putty telnet will allow you to capture the session.

To run exit mvpmcx2 exit to the NMT software and from your PC telnet to your NMT and type

/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2

The go back to your TV and play. I hope it is not too far a walk. Upload the capture and I will have a look.

I installed mvpmcx2 via CSH, so it was not in the path you indicated. Attached is the log file from putty. It looks like it has the correct seek time initially (ie 93 seconds):

Code:
Enter seek time (s) : seeking to: 93
12:09:34 Media 7
Media msgseek 0
file: http://192.168.1.100:7647/stream?f=D%3a\\Share\\Recordings\\LiveTV\\ATP Tennis _4_20090823_12301500.ts, size 1897296 (255873264), duration 136
seeking to 93 s, pos 174972153 position 58
new seek to 175057112 0

Thanks, it looks ok too that is why I though the problem with an old version.

Is D: on a share or shared? If it is not local could you move the recording directory to the C: drive and try the test.

It is a local drive, but I should mention one thing. D: is local to the server, but I have another drive mapped to the D:\share\Recordings directory (rather than having it mapped to a drive letter). I can change this and give it a try.

Ok if that doesn't show a difference try to see if the GBPVR web server is causing the problem using this alternative http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=17

I didn't even realize that the GbPvr Web Server was required for LiveTV on the PCH! Is the VLC Media player also required on the server for this to work properly (because it is not installed on my server)? Yet LiveTV plays fine on the PCH, just no skipping. I tried playing a recording on my HTPC using the web server and was not able to FFW in VLC Player. If configured properly, should this work also? Just grasping at straws and trying to educate myself in the process.
