Be careful that you apply the right patches though and use NMTInstall if you are on 1.4.7.

Of course I already removed the latest problem file :o. As soon as it happens again I'll give you the logs. I hope Brett can provide the logs sooner.

Martin,

We just watched The Good Wife and had this situation happen part way through. I let it run on through and am attaching logs. In the "-2" log, you'll see where the PTS value jumps wildly. I've still got the .ts file should you want to see it.

Thanks Brett that looks like there is enough for sub. I see the jump happening as it rolls for 7fff9ca9 to 80004c9e it looks like a sign error on the conversion.

Code:
PTS now:85147062  time: 1892.15693333333   (0000007ffd86ed0000)
PTS now:85193608  time: 1893.19128888889   (0000007ffe3cbf0000)
PTS now:85238653  time: 1894.19228888889   (0000007ffeecb40000)
PTS now:85283698  time: 1895.19328888889   (0000007fff9ca90000)

PTS now:18446744069499913063  time: 409927645988887   (00000080004c9e0000)
PTS now:18446744069499958108  time: 409927645988888   (0000008000fc930000)
PTS now:18446744069500003153  time: 409927645988889   (0000008001ac880000)

Incidently for those that know this stuff these increments of ~45,000 for PTS are correct as the SDK reports it even though typically mpeg is 90,000 per second.

If I understand this right this means that this can be solved by sub? That would be great news.
Yesterday I had another recording with the same problem, but it was 4 hours long, so too long for me to play this all the way (and I've already deleted it). But I'll keep looking for new recordings with this problem, if you're still interested.

Yes it should be simple fix for sub, I figure the seconds field is signed, that very big number is caused by the sign bits. I could normalize it too but I would have to do this in several places.

After seeing the error you don't have to replay the logs just need to capture when it jumps from 0x7fffff seconds but I don't think I need anything more now.

I'm interested in this topic. Had the big debut for the Popcorn Hour last night with the Mrs. About 20 minutes into Desperate Housewives my wife went to skip over commercials and the playback ended similar to the experiences previously mentioned. For now I am going to post-process her shows. Smile

Sub and I discussed this and we decided that I should make a change in mpvmcx2. I passed a version to the beta users a few days ago and I am waiting for their feedback.

Who wants to comment on this question? I use normal software distribution, practise safe computing and the beta should be virus free.

I've been running the beta for the last few days and it works fine for me.
