[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (cwills @ Feb. 13 2005,22:25)]Wasn't there an issue with people who updated the recent MS .NET update this last week? chasef & nostep, did you update your Windows critical updates this last week?

I'd also be interested in hearing about this if anyone can report that they are running successfully after having gotten the MS .Net update. I'm building a new machine since I was unsuccessful getting GB PVR to install on the old one (call me dedicated), and am hopeful that I can get GB running upstairs and feeding the MVP downstairs, and still have some cycles left for me to surf the web without messing up our TV. I feel a bit more confident the new machine will handle that (AMD XP 64 2+ GhZ, 512 megs RAM, nVidia 256 meg card, Hauppauge PVR-350, and a MediaMVP).

TIA,
Ewan

Done a complete clean install of 09010, but still seem to be experiencing some problems with timeshift and recording.
Channels tune in fine, and i've left everything on system default using VMR9, but whenever i try to record anything, it only shows a static image for around 10/15 secs then a bit of movement then another static image. Sound is there but doesn't match anything.

I have tried playing black in windows media player, and it has the same problem , so it looks like it is the actual recording.

Trying timeshift - get the error message - Failure playing back file.

Using a Nova-T 90002, ATi/Sapphire 7000 pci card.

I've downloaded a trial of showshifter to check my pc and that watches and records fine with the same equipment.

This version also appears to keep requesting web access (tried switching off mvp server in misc, but when i denied gbpvr then live tv wouldn't play)

I'm not saying that my liveTV problem is not an encoder/decoder problem, but doesn't GBPVR use the same encoder for liveTV that it does for recordings? Similarly does it not use the same decoder for watching liveTV and recordings? If I do indeed have an encoder/decoder problem will reinstalling GBPVR fix it...does it install encoder/decoder? In the configuration I've set it to use software default encoder/decoder...how do I find out what that software default is? Thanks for any input!!

Should I be posting in this topic...it kinda seems wrong?

Good news for me!! I uninstalled and reinstalled and my liveTV is back...and the liveTV preview mode is AWESOME!! Nice work sub!!

I'm am having problems with the "old" haupauge remote though. I edited irremote.ini as specified (I found two instances of that four line code sample...is that normal?) and restarted the ir remote but I have no functionality in the main menu (up/down) and in TV guide CH+ does a page up and CH- does a page down. I'm sure I'm doing something dumb...please help me pull my head out!!!

Thanks

Whenever my computer reboots or wakes up from hibernate, the first instance of live tv will always result in no picture(or just 1 still frame) and inaudible sound . If i exit and enter live tv again, then everything is ok . Tweaking the live tv pre delay did not seem to help. Anyone experienced this b4 ?

oh man...this ain't good. I'm back to no liveTV!! It was working fine then I reinstalled all of my favorite plugins. I was having trouble with FastFind and read that updating to .NET framework 1.0 was a god idea. I had troubles with this so just did and "automatic update" for XP. After that and a couple of restarts my FastFind problem was not fixed...but I thought "at least liveTV works". But, when I tried it it was broke!!! So I completely uninstalled GBPVR again, reinstalled and after reinstall I'm back to no liveTV. cry cry cry

ta da...I figured out what the culprit was!!! As soon as I copied over my original GBPVR.mdb file liveTV would break...switch to the one that comes with a clean install and it would work. In my orig mdb file there was apparently info concerning capture sources. I had two capture sources, cable TV and s-video. Once I deleted the s-video one I'm up and running like a champ!! Not sure if I'll be able to get s-video back...any clue why this would cause probs??

I have an issue that sounds like the 350 one, but less consistant.

I get an occasional freeze when the new file is made. No rhyme or reason to it. I can see a stutter more often, and wait to see if it's the 1 in 20 or so that is a freeze. There is also a 1 in 20 of starting live tv and having no audio. Back to guide and watch again fixes that.

I do notice after is that it freezes, it stops deleting live files (cleanup). I'm going to restart the system and see if it cleans up the dir after reboot.

On same subject, is log file supposed to be up to 5Mb? Or is that maybe same no-cleanup bug?

I think it may be...from log, after a small about of start-up dialogue, I have this for the remainder of the 5Mb of file:

Follow up:

- Reboot allows live to clean up again. I wonder if freeze is mdb related. The pause could be the record being added ineffeciently. The inabilty to delete could be from a lock in the db, and not on the file itself.

- That loop, which you may have figured out, it the OSD on the main menu showing the next recordings. I took it out, and things are better.

I remember someone's plugin had a static one the showed only the next one, and didn't roll them.

Has anyone noticed that the MVP OSD is "blurry"?

TV is fine but the menus seem displaed almost as if the layers aren't lined up correctly...
