Yes but what if its NOT recording something. Because thats what im experiencing. Im moving around the menu doing whatever and the recording service is NOT set to record something and it throws that error and stops responding. Thats why I don't think it's because of the transmit/recieve confusion.

I'm going to remove USB-UIRT as a receiver option in the next release. From now on it'll only be a IR Blaster. This device does not work reliably in this combined blaster/receiver configuration.

Guys,
I have the same problem. I think it happens when you hit a remote key that GBPVR doesnt recognize, i.e. it doesn't have a corresponding function. It seems to be ok if you limit remote known keystrokes!!

Im getting the same kinda problem, sometimes all is well, then it just quits working, also the Keyboard will not work either,i have to use the mouse to exit GBPVR,then restart it,and its fine again.

Hmm,this is a tad worrying, will this mean i will not be able to use my USB-UIRT in later GBPVR updates? (just need confirmation)

You'll be able to use it as an IR Blaster, just not as a receiver. This device is not reliably usable from multiple processes.

Just to let you know that I'm still getting this problem, and I'm only using the USBUIRT as a blaster (always have done).

Earlier I posted that it seemed to happen after watching Live TV, but I've since noticed it happening after watching recorded programmes, and also on the odd occasion after doing absolutely nothing, for instance, I went away for a few days and no-one touched the PC, but when I got back the last few recordings made were all of the same channel, regardless of what it should have been set to. Implies to me that the thing just quits responding randomly.

Sub - will your earlier suggestion for the extra line in config.xml help here, or is this just for people currently using it as a reciever?

Just thought I'd let you know that the additional config line did not help.

I've now put the restart.bat file into the Windows Scheduler to run every 30 mins (if the computer has been idle for at least 10 mins) so that the recording service gets restarted regularly. This seems to cure the lockup.

Probably a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but what the heck.

I respectfully disagree with this Smile

I would be happy to help in sorting this problem out. I don't know what would be causing this problem but there are several commercial apps out there accessing the USB-UIRT from multiple processes...

For those interested, I can pass along a debug version of the plugin which may help diagnose what is going on. Also, it would be interesting to see if when GBPVR stops responding to IR events if other apps such as Girder continue to see them, etc.

Please feel free to contact support@usbuirt.com

I'm the first to admit it's probably my fault, and not the fault of the hardware, but the truth is, I've had enough grief from this problem and have decided it's just easier to make the problem go away by dropping support for it as a receiver.
