I have a c:\temp directory and I added that registry entry but I do not get a reader.log. I seem to remember having to add a different registry entry for you on a previous problem? I'm using 64 bit Windows 7. Please advise.

I don't have a 64-bit machine in front of me, but I believe it's: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\LogSlipFile=1
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

Thanks johnsonx42. I've attached the two log files.

I can see that for every attempted skip, the reader.log shows two skips. The first one gets it right, and the second one (milliseconds later) stuffs it up. I'm scratching my head a bit about where this second skip is coming from. On my machines I only get the equivalent of your first skip.

You could see if this helps.

From what you said in your first reply I thought maybe there was an issue with my Hauppauge remote. I tested it with a "Debug.txt" file and it is only sending one keypress at a time.

Your patch seems to be working. When I look at the timeline while skipping, it looks like it's 2 or 3 seconds off but the log shows that it is within 1 second of the expected "skip to" point.

It might not be the remote, but there is something funny with your machine causing this oddity. Maybe something to do with directshow components. Hard to know really.

Great. This patch was effectively forcing the second skip to go to the same spot.

The app will be skipping to the right point in the file, but you might not see video until about second or so later though. ie, the app will start delivering data from that point in the file, and soon after you'll hear audio, and at the next i-frame in the stream you'll start seeing video.

You will also find a large pause on some Timing.Info files as shown earlier in the thread. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post418695 BrettB was seeing this from time to time so I had to normalize skipping in mvpmcx2

Is there anything else I can provide you with to help track down the multiple skip requests? I'm assuming the fix you put in the patch is not going to be part of a future NPVR release and I don't want it to break again every time I update.

I'm not really sure what to suggest on that one.

Yes, it'll be part of future releases. It's fairly easy for the application to identify the scenario, so makes sense to leave the workaround in incase any others have the same problem.
