You can also save your own custom profiles with Handbrake once you find a set that works for you.

Thanks. Just created and tested a custom Handbrake profile that fits the bill. Now just got to rip and convert a few 100 DVDs... zzzz....

This is an advantage of handbrake. Set up the conversion one of them and add I to the queue. From that you can choose generate a batch script.

Edit the batch script and change the output file name and input file/folder to %1. Then you can either make another batch file with yourbatchfilename.bat location-of-video and it will do it all for you.

Works better when converting formats. But can work with DVD folders as well as you're generally only converting title 1 or something like that

Thanks for the info about AirVideo.
In ended up having a play with Plex on my PC due to Psycik's plugin, and then found I could install it on my Linux unRAID server.

So now I have the media server also serving metadata / coverart plus transcoding for my Android, the ipod touch & eventually ipad.
