Puffy, I tried Lao Pan's ini file and lost all channels except the BBC ones. I got everything back by doing the following;

"If you can find the DVB-T tuning ini file for Crystal Palace in the Public/NPVR folder - sorry I can't be more specific I am at work - all you have to do is change the line that has:
506000,0,0,8 --> 490000,0,0,8"

..as Lao Pan suggested in a previous post. Using the original ini file (E:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T\United Kingdom - London - Crystal Palace.ini) and editing it.

I did encounter a problem with multiple BBC channels, that I randomly assumed was the cause of some problems with failed recordings, and that I resolved by removing the reference to 530000. My ini now looks like this

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=London - Crystal Palace

[DVB]
0=6
1=1,490000,0,0,8
2=2,482000,0,0,8
3=3,538000,0,0,8
4=4,562000,0,0,8
5=5,578000,0,0,8
6=6,554000,0,0,8

It seems that the offsets Lao Pan included weren't playing nicely with my setup.

I suppose it depends on the Tuner make and drivers - with the Compro card that I use it would lock on the center frequency and would never check for offsets (even with scan for offsets checked), which resulted in crappy reception. That's why I always put the offset in the ini now.

In two days the Crystal Palace final switch over takes place. If you use my ini in the earlier post there are 2 frequencies that might need rounding up to the center frequency.

I'm using an old Hauppauge WinTV 88x card and a Nova-T dual tuner. They only seem happy with the centre frequencies in the ini, and I get the same results whether I tick "Scan Offsets" or not.

I just wanted to post my ini here in case Puffy was expecting everything to resolve itself on the 18th or came back here looking for more information before then. Of course the ini I posted won't work after the 18th but your final one gives us all the information we'll need. Thanks.

Really not sure why I'm getting 2 sets of BBC channels, on 490000 and 530000, or why that causes problems with recordings. I'm in Watford and pointing at Crystal Palace through a railway embankment with an ancient aerial that wobbles in the wind, connected by equally ancient cable and I get very good reception. My sub-optimal setup works surprisingly well.

Before DSO BBC SD Programing was split over 2 muxes - after SD will be on one mux and HD on the other. On the first stage switch they put all the BBC SD on the one mux - but for some reason the other mux still has the programs from pre-DSO until the 18th. Must be some sound engineering reason - or just saving on overtime.Rolleyes

Boarsblood u star! That has now enabled me to get all channels again, thank you! I am guessing I will need to change this again tomorrow after the next switch over.
Would you be able to post and up to date one again tomorrow please?
Thank you
Smile

Her is the ini file for Crystal Palace for tomorrow without offsets - hope this or the previous one with offsets work.

Anybody know exactly what time the switchover will happen? I've been Googling but haven't found a precise time.

I found out myself when my Freeview TV "froze" at 00:49 (yep, weird time to pick for a maintenance schedule). All channels were lost except those on the BBC MUX which had changed on the 4th of April. One ITV MUX went live almost immediately but nothing else.

After several attempts I tried re-tuning my TV again just before 3am and everything dropped in placed so did the same for my NextPVR setup.

Cheers,
Brian
