W7 H.264 update out today

Here is a patch you guys can try, which re-enables H.264 support with the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder.

Nice, I like this patch. After choosing this decoder for my H.264 TV channel, it shows the video and audio. Previously I only got audio and no video.

I don't think so. While I have no H.264 content to test with, the Microsoft DTV-DVD Decoder shows as available on my Win8 Pro client w/o Media Center.

Indeed it is and working - but not available for SD content, that's what threw me.

I think I will stick with PDVD12 - looks even better with these new patches - or am I just imagining

I presume for Windows 8 we need to install Media Center?

My understanding is that MS decoders in Windows 8 will play H264 and will not play MPEG2. My guess is that adding Media Centre to W8 Pro enables MPEG2 in Pro. I don't have W8 so this is all based on reading the entire Internet while I was eating my lunch.
