@cncb I see what you are saying related to the seek into the growing except I never saw the time jump back. What I could do is FF into the growing section.

That's interesting. I wonder why you can FF past that point but can't jump past? I will have to try FF but that is not my preferred method of skipping ahead.
My Plugins: PhotoFilter, MusicMonkey, Windows Desktop Gadget

mvallevand Wrote:One of the weaknesses with this is xbmc doesn't support growing files via http. Therefore if you start watching 10 minutes in it will stop at 10 minutes, if you restart it will stop at 20 etc or even less if you skipped commercials and so-on and so-on. Just curious, do you know if this is still true of XBMC with the Gotham release? Is it possible the Gotham APIs might support this?

That's an easy question as I assume the FF will go through the demux logic that Play will. @craigrs84, sorry no idea I don't use http except for live tv. If you test playback on an in-progress recording you would find out soon enough Martin

I think there's a problem with new recordings not showing up, see this thread:

I only just noticed this thread and intended posting in X-NEWA! I haven't had any Widows clients since I changed to OpenELEC/XBMC/X-NEWA early in the year. About the only time I watched currently recording programme has been for two recent F1 races and noticed that it stopped every 10 minutes when running 10 minutes behind which was a real pain on a 3 hour programme. Luckily the lap counter is on screen most of the time so had to be constantly aware of the number ready for the next crash! I only do it so I can have a Natural Break without missing anything! Now I know its a XBMC feature I will watch live or after the end f the recording.

IMHO, it's not an XBMC feature because TVheadend, Argus and Mediaportal seem to have fixed this. I guess Sub hasn't had time to fix this yet. I'm sure he will fix this too.

Too bad, but thanks for clarifying.

You just need to set up your recording folder as a shared folder, read from it and then x-newa wouldn't stop until the end. Martin |
