I can only give you a maybe on that one - it's not something I've looked at yet. The focus is more been on live tv and recordings, transport stream etc. Adding other file types brings additional complications.

Fair enough, although a VIDEOS menu option would still be a very useful addition for me, even if only for ts files; maybe the NPVR server could transcode mp4s on the fly :-) ?

Still keen on the Videos menu functionality and Comskip support sub, for both this and the Android TV App. Surely there must be lots of people who use NPVR to watch stored family vids etc ? I don’t have a problem if it’s limited to certain file types I can transcode once if need be; this would be a real game changer for me, cheers k.

A couple of suggestions for recording playback:

1. It would be nice if the time bar at the bottom could show text indicating current position and the length of the recording.
2. From some earlier discussion, it sounds like there are supposed to be swipe actions to move forward / backward, but I don't seem to have any swipe functionality. Some quick back and forward jumping capability would be handy.

Also, scrubbing on the time bar doesn't seem to work quite right. I can drag the big white dot a short distance, but then it sticks. I can release it and move it again another short distance, then it sticks again. And most of the time, after I drag the dot, the new position doesn't "take" until I tap on it in the new location.

Just picked up the AppleTV app because my NMT died tonight (maybe the shock of hearing that v5 drops support did it in ). Would love comskip support, but even just having the commercials displayed the way they are on the iPad app would be helpful. w/o those marks it's hard to find the end of the ad.

Now that Kodi supports TVOS you should in theory be able to get comskip with the NextPVR addon. If you want to replace the NMT you could even try knewc with Kodi and get comskip and the NextPVR UI.

Thanks Martin! It looks to be a bit complicated getting Kodi onto an AppleTV, but I may pick up a Firestick to give these new tools a whirl.
