I use HLS streams and have the same problem, loops after around 10 seconds, maybe 25 seconds if you are lucky. I have also tried with RTMP streams and get the same behaviour. I have tried another PVR program and it doesn't have this issue.

Thanks

I agree, there's something different? wrong? with NPVR in comparison to other recording devices.
Too much evidence already. If this was a court case, definitely qualified as "beyond reasonable doubt" case.

I am SHOCKED that not more people have commented here. Maybe only few have this problem and 99% no problems? happy satisfied users?

As for me, I am lucky that NPVR is very very small part of my tv show viewing experience.
If IPTV have good signals, If NPVR records, whatever I live with it. Better than nothing. LOL
I am glad I have other ways to get, download what I wanna watch.
IF NPVR didn't exist, I would never miss it.

joeijm.
IPTV is a developing media with little governance or standards coupled with an inherent dependence on the quality of the Internet hence the variance of experience between users. Just because NPVR doesn't work well on one or two specific IPTV sources does not imply its poor software.

Given that this is "free" software supported by an active user enthusiast community and some very hard work by a dedicated developer (SUB), I'm "SHOCKED" by your negative comments.
You've had a lot of support here and all I can say is if NPVR doesn't suit your needs then as you said "I would never miss it" I would suggest you use something else!
NPVR Version= 7.0.1.241229
Intel i5 Ten Core 14400 + 16GB DDR5 in Gigabyte B760 AX Motherboard
Windows 11 Pro 64bit
TBS-6902 dual DVB-S tuner
TBS-6205 quad DVB-T tuner
500Gb System Disk (M2 Nvme SSD)
4Tb Media Store (2 x 2Tb M2 Nvme SSD Spanned)

Raspberry Pi3 B+, Pi4B (OSMC) & Pi5 (XBian) running Kodi v21.1

I assume you READ the postings before your comment here. But just in case, let me repeat my point.
It doesn't matter how good or bad IPTV or tuner sources are. When same source records bad in NPVR and good on others then it's a logical conclusion that NPVR has some problems.
Perhaps that kind of deductive reasoning doesn't register with you? Your ignorant comment is an insult to NPVR developer(s).
People like me should be welcomed (new and outsider of NPVR) cus we provide insights that can only make NPVR better.
Then again you probably didn't see all the feedbacks I provided.
If you take my comments as "NEGATIVE" then we not on same planet. I welcome any comments that can make me better, Perhaps you should reconsider? (for your own sake)

BTW just because it's FREE you are satisfied with poor quality? ...so we should be grateful just cus it's FREE? WOW.
Perhaps that explains it all? Lucky NPVR is not paid product, who would buy it?
That's terrible conclusion based on YOUR sad logic. Again reconsider for your own sanity sake.

Trust me I hardly use NPVR, certainly I don't rely on NPVR for sole recording option. I got backup options.
As I said missing recordings is not the end of the world.

Lastly, sorry that I am not a NPVR groupie. I am an independent, always will be.
Also please do NOT reply. We both spoke our opinions. I am confident and proud with everything I shared here. i hope you can be at peace and let it go.
I won't be using this forum anymore. You can ban me if you wanna. LOL

Although I have never supported IPTV in NextPVR, (especially the VOD function which I consider100% illegitimate) because of the type of user it could tend to attract, I feel there iare good reasons it is banned for discussion on Kodi forums, I do admire sub dedication because he gives 100% in support of it, it seems on a one-by-one case too. One of the things I like about NextPVR is the loyalty users have shown to sub and his willingness to work through changes and improve new features, which often do start out rough, and IPTV has been no exception. The new TV pirates have no loyalty they will always just move on to something else. The providers (the criminals who benefit from sub's efforts) could care less, if anything these providers make his life harder since they are busy fighting off people trying to "steal" their streams and hiding from the authorities.

I feel one of the challenges for IPTV is that NextPVR is closed source so only sub can improve it, and because of the license sub cannot even use the open source code or techniques that many other applications use for streaming. Doing it all from scratch is a fundemental disadvantage that takes a lot of creativity and on the way there will be some glitches. Get off the bus if you don't like the ride.

I'm happy to take a look at your logs. It's likely your IPTV provider is doing something quirky which NextPVR doesn't like.

IPTV support in NextPVR is still very new, and I'm still learning about the odd things that some IPTV providers do. I'm happy to work through any issues we find, and that way the next user wont have to suffer through the same issue.

To summarize what was said above:

You're welcome to not use the software if it's not working well for you, otherwise I'm happy to help you work through any issue and improve the IPTV support for everyone.

As Martin said above, these IPTV providers are often doing non standard stuff, in an effort to protect their stream, and this sometimes breaks stuff. I'm adding workaround for these non-standard things as I come across them.

You guys complaining should remember that NextPVR's primary audience has been users with a TV tuner connected. IPTV support is only a very recent addition, and we've still got some growing to do on that front.

If you'd like to get to the bottom of this, you can install the updated NShared.dll in the link below, and I can give you instructions for turning on HLS/M3U8 logging.

Hi,

Added the new dll and this is the netpush log.

Error seems to be "FillBuffer taking too long...", starts to happen after about 15 seconds in this log file. My first try today was ok for almost 50 seconds so its seems very random but generally happens before 20 seconds

Thanks for you help
