I was a smart aleck and now I have the same problem. Fonts are HUGE! The forecast goes beyond the bottom of the screen.

Whew, and I almost was thinking about possibly going out and buying a new TV. Smile

Updated weather plug-in posted to the new wiki site.

The following changes have been made:

* Updated the code used to add new locations to handle the revised format of the MSNBC web pages

* Changed some of the units when displaying things in SI units

* Enhanced the map display to show animated weather maps, if available

New version posted to the wiki site.

2005–08–09 :

* Updated the code to pull weather information from the main MSNBC web pages rather than the programmatic iterface page. This gives the following additional information: Sunrise time, Sunset time, and Dewpoint.

* Now pull all the maps that can be found, which typically includes high and low temperature, rain charts, etc. The blue and yellow keys can be used to scroll back and forth between maps.

* Added a new detailed forecast button, which displays all the detail that can be found for upcoming days. The blue and yellow keys can be used to scroll back and forth between days

* When posting messages to the video archive panel, and image of the weather conditions is also displayed along with the text description

Note that this version uses a new version of CommonGBPVRUtilities.ddl that is NOT backwards compatible with the previous version. If you use the Video Archive or Music Player plug-ins you will need to download the latest versions of these as well. Also note that if you want to see the weather messagesdisplayed on the main screen you will need to download and install the video archive plug-in, which includes the VAPanel used by the weather plug-in.

It doesn't work. I just installed it, and it's still raining out. What version had better weather? Wink

I like the new map. If you're looking to make a smal add-on (once you've settled on the provider for it) would be to offer choices of maybe a further out zoom (like the 300 and the 600 or 900). I suppose if you turn it into some view you can rotate w/ a button, many lvls would be a possibility.*

*edit - I'm an idiot, and just noticed you have the blue/yellow buttons doing this. Very nice. I'll save myself in saying more maps, esp a 600mi and static ones, would be cool. I like to see what coming up the coast from the south.

Jeff, I really like the new version with the detailed forecast and additional maps. I have just one complaint: the cities seem to be sorted by code, whether it is the zip code or in the form USXXXXX. I would like to specify the order, so that my home location shows up on the panel and is displayed first when launching the weather app. If I enter the codes in the config for the plug-in in the order I want, when I open the app, the cities are sorted by code again. Is it possible to sort them the way I want? Thanks

I would like to see this as well. Nice job on the update -- by the way. Smile

nice update.

I do have a issue with åäö

I use codes SWXX0019 city = Luleå will show in in GBPVR as: weather for Lule&#229
and code SWXX0019 city = Frösön will show in in GBPVR as: weather for Frösön

also there is an issue with SI units - it works except in current for visibility and pressure - they are in inches and miles instead of mb and km.

(to bad that that the map with temperatures only exists in Fahrenheit - not the plugins fault)

I don't know why you would get an object error when you click on the map. There are no click events in the code associated with maps. It may just be coincidence. have you looked at the gbpvr.exe.log file to see what it says the problem is?

I don't know what the Isolated Thunderstorms bug is. If you could give me more detail and tell me what area code you are using I can try to reproduce it.

With respect to the font size, it looks fine on my TV and on my computer monitor; I don't know why they don't work for you. They are big so that I can read them from across the room. If they are smaller I can;t read them on my TV without my glasses, which I often don't wear.

And, as to the maps, the plpug-in now downloads as many maps as it can find for the area.
