I too thought the OSD was transparent in both Live TV and Video playback on previous versions. Anyway, thanks for the fix Sub.

Yeah, OSD transparency worked perfectly for me as of GBPVR09108.msi. When I upgraded to 0911, it stopped working. Maybe that'll give you a clue as to where to look for the differences... Again, thanks for this wonderfull program!!!

What does "stopped working" mean for you?

Are you talking about the slight darkening of the screen when the OSD is visible on the screen during playback of a pre-recorded video on a MVP device (which this discussion has been about, and is the only issue I'm aware of), or are you talking about something else entirely different? Your comment makes it sounds like your OSD isn't working at all.

This darkening issue has been resolved.

Make sure you're running the most recent 550 pro drivers. If that doesnt help, wait for new ATI drivers.

Sub, did I read where the Theatre550 bitrate setting works in the current/upcoming gbpvr version? I still see .91.12 listed, and that's what I've got but last I knew, I can't purposefully set it to a rate I want, and in all cases but one, I get 5224 kbps or so.

BTW, do you get a list of the available video & audio bitrates, as in some sort of capabilities list? How would I find out about what they are (as in, somebody giving me a list of them), for the 550 chip? Or can it do any rate you tell it, exactly?

.

Any thoughts on why Nero always recodes the audio portion, from mp2 to pcm in NTSC mode? 1500+ kbps for audio. One reason, perhaps, is to get you to buy it so you can at least use AC3, which from my one test run, was using 192 kbps. I'd rather it leave it at the 224/384 mp2. And now that I think about it, can the audio rate be configured? Since I'm going to AC3, I may as well start at 384 kbps mp2 rather than 224. Hm, as I look at BTV advanced settings, it only shows 192 and 224 kbps. Maybe that's all the 550 delivers.

v0.91.12 was the version I introduced 550 Pro support. I have corrected the ATI bitrate problem in the next release. Other than a couple minor fixes like this, I've been busy changing jobs the last few weeks, so havn't really made any progress on get the next release done. It'll be a couple of weeks away.

Sorry, I havn't got a list I can provide you.

Long time lurker and 550 owner here.
Thanks for all your time and hardwork Sub.
Us 550 owners owe you a great deal as ATI has choosen to short change it's 550 customer when it comes to the software it bundles with it's card.
I've told myself as soon as I got a job, and the bitrate problem was resolved I'd donate to help further develope GB-Prv.
Well I just started working and my first paycheck coincides with your plans for the next release. Coincidence? I think not Big Grin
Anyway,
I'll be donating $25 out of my first check to help out.
Thanks again
