See my last post to correct that problem. Use the current scan file.

Don't forget to restart the service after making the change.

I removed the original package, installed the new package that you posted and its stuck in the same place. When I run the web-client, I can see the tuner device and I can select current-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-repack, but the scan finishes instantly, the save button is shown but there are no channels. weird.

Unfortunately I don't have a USB ATSC tuner that works with CoreElec. Send the zipped logs that you get from the NextPVR web settings page and I will have a look.

I will see if I can get this running on an RPi to confirm.

It worked fine for me, I assume your addon says 1.0.3 or perhaps you didn't uninstall 100% program and data.

I just realized that I also have tvheadend server installed on that box. I stopped the service with systemctl and now it is scanning and finding channels Smile Thanks for all your help! I'll let you know how it works out.

Ok great, you told us your were going to do a clean LE 10 install so didn't consider that, but the logs would showed that.

Good luck.

Yeah, sorry for not letting you know about that. I figured I'd try with my existing install first, just to check things out. So I upgraded to LE 10 and made some progress with your help.

Hi Martin

A friend of mine was disposing of an HP Compaq small form factor desktop machine which has an AMD E-450 APU, 8GB memory and a built in DVD Player/Writer. My friend had previous used it to run Windows 10 Pro (slowly!) but it seem an ideal candidate to turn into a media centre.

I installed the latest LibreElec (10.0.2) / Kodi (19.4) software and booted it up.  On checking the system resources it was using very little CPU and memory as I expected so I set about configuring it to my requirements and installed the latest NextPVR addon (v10) which in turn discovered and configured access to my current RPi4B based NextPVR server. So good so far.

Then I came across this forum thread, installing a local copy of the NextPVR server seemed like an interesting route to go so I used the information in post #1 to install NextPVR. I omitted the optional step 5 as I wasn't sure I needed it.  On restarting LibreElec I was able to access the local NextPVR installation and found it had already discovered and installed the 4 tuners from by HD Homerun Quatro.  I setup my ScheduleDirect account details on this server and tuned in my local Channels. Everything again seemed OK. I had seen the note in #1 regarding not using of the local browser but this wasn't a problem to me as I have been using NextPVR with a Kodi client installation for quite a while and was happy yo continue using the local Kodi client for this purpose.

Then I did what I should have done before I started.  I read through the rest of the thread! I have now seen post #26. From post #1 I had used the linked nextpvr-elec.zip file and at the moment all seems OK however should I in fact use the linked service.nextpvr-9.80.11.103.zip file from post #26 ?  Can I simply install the latter directly over the former or would it be better to ditch the original installation and start again from scratch ? Is service.nextpvr-9.80.11.103.zip the current version of this software ?

Finally, is this another candidate to write a new installation document for the wiki ?

Regards.

Using the newer zip file is certainly easier but there isn't a lot difference in functionality. Going forward it it will be the method I document and support.

I put a placeholder for this with your Linux changes but I haven't published anything as there are going to be new versions to match netcore 6 which is only directly supported in LE11 and CE20

Right, got this to work with the latest LibreElec / Kodi (10.0.2/19.4) versions and installed the service.nextpvr-9.80.11.103.zip file from post #26. I also added a PulseEight CEC adaptor to allow me to use my Panasonic TV handset. I struggled a bit with getting audio output to work but it turns out the DVI to HDMI adaptor I was using wasn't passing the audio output for some reason, however a friend has loaned me PCI to HDMI which gets its audio via the onboard soundcard output which fixed that problem.

I have one (?) remaining problem, I am going to ask the question (but I think I already know the answer) anyway:

I have configured the NextPVR server and plugin within LibreElec and this seems to work without any problems - so long as the system is awake.  I have configured LibreElec to suspend if there is no activity for 30 mins, which again seems to work.  If I schedule a recording for a time whilst the server is awake then it works OK, however if I schedule a recording for sometime after the system has gone to suspend mode the recording doesn't happen because the system is not waking up prior to the recording time. Is there anyway to do what I am trying to do or are there any workarounds which might help ? I don't really want to have to leave this system powered up all the time, in this day and age it should be possible to get it to wake up at the required time to carry out the recording. Is there anything I can do in NextPVR or LE/Kodi to make this happen ?

Thanks as always for any help provided.
