Do you remember what issue you had with it?

It supports the same scripts, so there should be no reason your can't use scripts to copy/move recordings from one location to another.

I understand holding off while v5 was brand new, but at this stage v5 has been out for a couple of years, and anyone left on v4 is just getting left further and further behind.

you are right it is time to move, I will do it and tell you if I have still the issue to copy the recording pointer after changing disk location
I record on SSD then copy on a 3T bytes disk, I had also 3 servers able to record, so moving all recording in a central location and seeing by my master server

If you are copying to a network share you will need to set up V5 the same way you set up v4 to make sure network drives are available.

I installed V5 and effectivelly it solved the AppleTV forward/backward issue. Thank you.
I will now look at my rrecording relocation issue I had in the past

Now I remember the issue with V5:
the command in PostProcessing.bat "ECHO NscriptHelper -rename "%~f1" "%~f1" >> tmp_link.bat"
does not work as in V4

After recording I got in tmp_link.bat :
NscriptHelper -rename "" ""

when in V4 I got :

NScriptHelper -Rename "C:\Users\Public\Videos\REC\This Is Us\Season 01\This.Is.Us.S01E11.Raisons.et.sentiments.ts" "C:\Users\Public\Videos\REC\This.Is.Us.S01E11.Raisons.et.sentiments.ts"

when tmp_link.bat is correct,
I have a batch copying the recorded file to the final location then with a sed command rename the second path to the final location
and finally execute the NscriptHelper commands for all recordings of the night

Since my RRImport utility uses File.Move it should do what you want in one command without using sed or post processing with a few tweaks

If you want to post your logs after a recording, I'll tell you exactly what parameters are passed to your batch file. Anything that happens in the batch file is up to your, and not something NextPVR has an say over.
