I dont think that the 0kb records are only related to cyberlink mux. I got these 0kb records (more often) with cyberlink (3.0.0.2221 and 5.0.0.727) but also with showshifter mux (3.1.0.2557). see log. It often seems so be related (at least with showshifter) to records from different sources at the same time.

(here stops the log but the recording service tray shows green at 11:04 an shows it still recording, but booth shows are 0kb files)
in fact the recording service dont stop record at 09:17. the windows eventlog dont show any errors.
@sub:
does it mean that there are no signal at booth cards? and may the error occour if it try to record with no signal locked? normaly the signal is fine. btw, i dont use standy or hibernate. the systen is 24/7 on.
and if so: is theere a way to fix it, so that recordings dont start if the signal is not looked? (and instead a second try to look the signal take place)?
what means signal minus 20 on pinnacle? (twenty point worse then zero?) :-)
Quote:I replaced mpgmux v5.0.0.727 with v4.0.0.2122 last weekend & so far I havent had a 0kb recording. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
I have 2 nova-t 90002's in my PC and used to regularly get 0KB recordings with other symptoms described in this thread. Solved the problem by downloading and installing trial version of Showshifter 3.12. Haven't had one zero length recording since.
It would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this and find a simple mux file to register rather than install Showshifter. I installed a previous trial version a couple of months ago, and it caused problems on my PC. Latest one seems OK.

If the signal fails to lock, then the drivers arent going to supply any data for recording - so yes, this will be your problem. I dont know why your would be getting this though.
anyody got a link to v4 as ive only got v5 (mpgmux) and so far all recordings are 0mb , it also crashes out with a windows error report. is this normal to this issue?
I have the newer nova-t and the 0kb files issue.
I like to try some other mux and from the forum I think the cyberlink v4.0.0.2122 should be worth a try. Any hints on where to source the cyberlink 4.xxx ?
( Or if there is a better solution I have missed )
I tried the 3.xxx which gave broken, short files and am using the 5.0.0727 which works well but gives 0kb recordings randomly.
