- and I can understand & agree with your point (fix the problem, not the symptoms). In this vein, I have searched around the forum for others experiencing the "gbpvrrecordingservice" crashing problem. So far I have follow their advice re: making the service auto-restart, as well as examining my System Event logs. From those Event logs, my crash problems seem consistent in their cause (see snapshot below), generally occur at the start of a new recording, but do not happen every time. Any pointers please ? Hi linfor,
Although crude, I solved this by simply renaming the original & the new Tray executable files as I noticed the same thing as you - that after making changes using "Config.exe" the executable "GBPVRTray.exe" would always be launched. So: 1. Change folder to "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr" or the equivalent on your system. 2. Rename the original tray from "GBPVRTray.exe" to "GBPVROldTray.exe" 3. Rename the new power tray from "PVRPowerTray.exe" to "GBPVRTray.exe". It worked for me. Paul K.

RE: "gbpvrrecordingservice crashes":
Thanks "sub", Once I found a way to track down all my .ax files and determine their respective versions, this worked. Although I used the utility below, I found you can get the same information just using "Explorer" Properties on the respective .ax files. "DirectShow Filter Manager 0.5" http://www.softella.com I have waited a few days to be certain, but as of today I have had 5 continuous days without a single "gbpvrrecordingservice" crash since I unregistered the old & registered the newer version of my MUX. Old one was: \Program Files\Home Cinema\MediaShow\PDMpgMux.ax (06/11/2004 v4.0.0.1313) New one used: \Program Files\Home Cinema\PowerDirector\PDMpgMux.ax (21/10/2004 v4.0.0.2221) To help anyone searching the forum archives in future, here is my PC setup: MEDION MD 8383XL TITANIUM PC Tuner Card1: MEDION SAA7134 (Phillips) DVB-T (managed by "MediaPortal") Tuner Card2: Twinhan Vision DTV-Ter (managed by "GBPVR) regards Paul K.

I love the app - it does great things.
However it also makes my Compro T200 recordings totally garbled. Don't know why, but when it is off the card through GBPVR records perfectly! It is also hitting 13% CPU usage every second - don't know if that helps...

linfor Wrote:Also, can I reverse the icons so that green is recording and red is off? The icons are hard-coded into the application and currently there is no configurable option regarding which icons are displayed. The initial impetus for creating this program was to flash a big RED warning sign while a recording was underway to warn people (aka wife) not to reboot or do anything else disruptive. This is why the green icon signifies "safe to mess with the PC" and the red icons signify "STOP - ALERT - WARNING - HANDS OFF - GO AWAY - DANGER". - Jim

Makes sense that red means "KEEP AWAY".
How do I turn off the old GBTray. Everytime I restart the service from a config change it starts up the old GBTray |
