XBMC PMIII Skin.

Seriously about the game? It's pretty good. The video cutscene's are cool, you'll recognize all the sounds (punch's,noises,etc') from the past games. All the char's, brilliantly done actually. The last 2 MKeception and the other were also pretty cool, but for any MK fans, MK:Monks is a totally different kind of game, because of it being an adventure/story based game. But the graphics are very nicely done. Check it out if you get a chance. Ok, enough about that. Got a few questions for ya.
Which of your plugins have you done skinning for so far? I'm ready to start a new one. I'm seeing you are pretty much finished with the My Music plugin. Looks great BTW. Have you started with My Video's yet? If not, i can go ahead and start on that one. "Boy's showing some skills with those plugins". Did you have xbmc in mind when you made those? Just wondering. It's definitely helping with making this skin easier to port over, that's for sure. I'll send you the files for the File Explorer type plugin, and the Main page so you can be synced with me, and if you can send me back the file's you've done.
I was just remembering as i write this, i'll have to tweek things to be 4x3, but that's probably no issue. Talk to ya soon.

Did you have xbmc in mind when you made those?

yeah i was using xbmc for about a year before i even heard of a pvr, so was use to that setup, which made sense, just was a few things i didnt like, which i changed .

ill do my music/pics/vids/progs/messenger since they will all be using pretty much the same skin (theres one skin.xml file they all use, and each has a small one for itself which contains plugin specific things).

I'll send you the files for the File Explorer type plugin, and the Main page so you can be synced with me, and if you can send me back the file's you've done.

you might want to start work on the OSD and the tv guide (i had a wee go at the tv guide but couldnt get it to look right).

hey the main menu looks pretty good, just the number of menu buttons seems to small for gbpvr, could you try and add 2 more buttons to it (at least one). i figure most people would have something like (well if they group it)
- my television (guide,search,live,recordings)
- videos (one of the video plugins)
- music (one of the music plugins)
- photos (my pictures probably)
- another plugin
- weather
- shutdown

i suppose 6 would work. 5 just seems to little.

also can you whip up some 16x9 task images for me, the task.png size works out to be 596x297 (im just stretching the background image, it still looks good). you mentioned you had done these (so they looked right, since the task image is drawn last on the menu it covers most things as is).

Well, a few things i wanted to mention on that note. The only reason i used 5 choices instead of 6 or 7, is because the xbmc only has 5, and the artwork is 5 deep. So the overall artwork would need to be modified to make this work. Which isn't a problem for me at all. If you think it should be 6, lemme know and i can do that, no biggie at all. The text font i use on main page, when i told you last was actually wrong, I actually used tahoma. I was thinking wrong when i told you, which the text is bigger looking at it, and wider. On my tv, it's pretty clear and easy to read (32inch Sony), so i didn't think that was a problem. I don't really have a preference, so if you think it would really be better to have 6 items, i will go ahead and change the artwork to fit 6, and also then add 1 more to the xml file. I am trying to keep it exactly like xbmc PM3 as i possibly can, but i guess there's no rule on our skin in the making.
Also, i can whip up some 16x9 new task images for you, BUT for now, i am going to be redoing them myself anyways, as i have a different approach i am going to use and redo them, so they look a lot more closer even then to the PM3 skin itself. So after i redo all them, i'll redo those for ya. I guess i'll do one (after i redo all, with my new method, to make them look and fit much better.) i'll redo one of them, and email it to ya, so you can let me know if that works right, and if it does, i'll redo the rest of them as well, and email them to you as well.

The weather part right now is not really much done at all, other then grabbing all the weather images, replacing them over the GBPVR default ones, so the proper ones match. As well as making the weather background image. But the actual xml file isn't really been done yet. I'm doing to start working on that soon. I just emailed you the images directory, and the clock.xml file. Sorry about that. Funny thing is, i was going to just email the whole directory to you, but then thought, "That would really suck if you lost any work in the process of copying the files over" I would REALLY have felt bad if that happened in the process. Talk to ya real soon i hope. Hope things are going good with you. Hard day at work for me. Darn school closings today and tomorrow are giving us A LOT of excess buisiness. Feeling a bit drained. LOL

I haven't received any e-mail from you yet. That's not good. Hhhhmmmm....hope nothing went wrong. Also, PSD file's are cool for me.Your right abou thtat. much easier to made whatever tweaks we both need to do. I'll keep checking for the e-mail though.

Thanks for the nice compliment to us. It will certainly be a fantastic skin once completed. I'm excited to get it done, but it's definitely some work, since some things are different between programs and how skinning works. But my goal is to get it looking as close as possible as I can.
