Having a separate forum for TV Listings would make it a lot easier for us to follow questions and answers. Right now you have over 400 entries in this thread. This is much more than the number of threads and postings for most other plug-ins.

It has become almost impossible to follow the posting of a problem and the posts which solve the issue.

Is there a reason why TV Listings doesn't rate a forum of its own?

My Remote Control sends Ctrl-F and Ctrl-D on the arrow keys.
I have this way so I can quick jump in video player.

If I remove these in TV Listings keymapping, TV Listings still picks up Ctrl-F and Ctrl-D

Tagged below out, but the key commands are still picked up by plugin, so move arrow left and right jumps a "page".

<!--
<command name="GUIDE_PAGE_FORWARD" key="^F"/>
<command name="GUIDE_PAGE_BACK" key="^D"/>
-->

Hi,
gonzo90017 Wrote:Could you give a little more details as how to do this? I tried editing the file but the name and number kept appearing on top of the icon.

Also how can I change the color of that column? (where the icons and name appear) I want to make it black just like the default blue skin. (the grayish color doesn't look good with my icons)

thanks LewE for sharing your example. To get a black background for the channel headers, you could just draw a black rectangle:

Code:
<CompositeImage name="ChannelHeader" size="14,8.5">
    <DrawRect loc="0,0.5" size="100,99" fillColor="Black" borderColor="Black" borderWidth="0"/>
    ...
</CompositeImage>
Also, I'd suggest to look at the skin files for the slick skin (available at the wiki), where darker images for the programme backgrounds in the grid are included.

no, there's no reason.

yes, the plugin uses a default keymapping if none was found for the pressed key in the keymappings xml file as some kind of fallback - I didn't think at such a scenario when implementing it and there's currently no workaround for this, sorry. But it seems that the default plugins don't respond to undefined keyevents at all, too - so I'm going to change that for the next release to be conform.

It appears that you have decided to keep support in this one thread. I would like to see TV Listings have its own subforum. I think it would make it easier for you to respond to users and, more importantly for us users, would make it a lot easier to find answers to our questions.

From personal experience, I often can not even follow related entries because users sometimes respond not to the the posting of interest but to the Original Post in this thread. Also, the Support thread is so long that it is like looking at a whale through a pin hole when trying to see what has been discussed by others in the Threaded Display Mode.

TV Listings is my most often used plugin and from the number of entries in your support thread it appears to be one of the most popular ones. Luckily, I encounter few, if any, problems so I don't need to find things in the thread that often.

Please re-consider setting up a subforum for TV Listing's support so individual issues can each have their own thread.

The latest version doesn't allow the Play button to watch the show selected in the guide. How can I enable this so I don't have to hit OK on the remote, cursor to Watch, then hit OK on the remote?

I'll take a look at the other skin files.

Another issue i'm having is: I enabled show genre colors by setting it to true in the skin.xml file. But it doesn't work. I can see the colors in the default "TV Guide" but not in "TV Listings".

Personally I have to go along with this BIG-TIME. The success of this plugin has made it to the major league. For me it is in danger of imploding. What this means is so many questions and random entries but with no true thread question everyone get's lost. Please Alibert consider this. Brilliant Plugin, I've been using it for ages! So much you have done here but it is now getting lost in it's own brilliance on the thread.

Cheers

I expect that if some kind moderator created a sub-forum for TV Listings, then folks would post in it and Alibert would continue to answer the posts.

If there is a kind moderator in the room, would they please raise their hand.

no, I've not decided to limit the support to this thread, I just answered your question - sorry for the misunderstanding. Personally, I don't care where I answer support questions, so there's nothing against the sub-forum from my point of view. But I can't remember that someone else requested a dedicated support forum before. I'm going to ask sub for the forum.

yes, you're right. It got lost during the implementation of the pre-book feature. I'll added it again and will upload a bugfix release in the next few days. Sorry about that.

it's working here, so there may be another issue in your custom skin file. Are the genre colours showing up when using the default blue skin and enabling genre colours there?
