Hi Alibert. Smile

Just want to say that TV Listings 2 is in general running very fine on my systems. Did you made a newer version of the clickfindertoxml Tool? Not that it were needed (it runs), but just to be sure.

2 small things could be better: If i am using the Community Skin 4.0 (Glow) widescreen, i have problems with displaced programpictures within the TV Guide. They're all a little too much left aligned.

Another problem is on TV Listings if it's used on Clients with streaming or share connection: Whenever you start a movie/live tv session (recordings too) the miniguide appears and GB-PVR is responsing very bad. If someone presses to soon any key on the remote control or keyboard, then GB-PVR locks up. I think it has something to do with the onlineactivity on amazon perhaps?

Hi,
daneo Wrote:Hi Alibert,

did a re-install today and started using your ClickFinder software to parse the database into XMLTV.

I see that in XMLTV the icon tags get created for both the web as well as locally saved images, but they are not showing in the TV Listings guide.

Are there any tricks to this?

Thanks,
Dane

are you using the 'xmltvextras' utility to populate the tv listings database on epg updates (see the wiki page for details)?

no, there isn't.

you would have to ask the author of the skin to fix that.

the plugin uses the default api to playback files and doesn't actively open the mini guide. The mini guide itself has nothing to do with the plugin, too. Amazon lookups are done only when being at the 'find more' popup and 'amazon' is the selected place to search. So, I don't think that your problem is related to the plugin.

Hi Alibert,

yes, I did realise last night that I needed the "other half" for the pix to work -- it's a bit hit or miss at the moment, but I need a couple of days for my EPG to calm down after re-installing.

One question -- I do a full EPG reload each day from ClickFinder (not sure why I started this way) -- any experience here?

Thanks,
Dane

alibert,

I must first apologize... I just now checked my email and saw the file you sent me on October 17. When I was replying before I was referring to the .dll you posted on the 13th of October. Which I am still using.

So I tried to readdress the issue and made a copy of my db. In the copy I deleted a channel that had recordings. (same channel that I had issues with before.) I kept the .dll from the 13th in my system to start with and I opened pvrx2. TV Recordings opened fine and so did TV Listings... obviously the one channel would not open. But otherwise the .dll posted here did work for me.

Like I said in a previous post I had other issues and just had to start from scratch but I wanted to let you know that I did try this again.

Have been reluctant to post this, as I always want to get things working NOW (and usually succeed), but this one is stumping me! I am trying to use xmltvextras but it always says "listing not found in GBPVR database" e.g.
Code:
H:\Program Files\GBPVR>XmltvExtras.exe epg\xmltv.xml
Reading epg\xmltv.xml...
Found 67 programmes containing extra data.
Searching for outdated programme entries...
No outdated programme entries found in TVListings database.
Mapping xmltv programmes to GBPVR programmes...
Channel I12.755795.microsoft.com not found in GBPVR database.
Channel I16.167692.microsoft.com not found in GBPVR database.
...(about 20 lines of this)...
Channel I728.313143.microsoft.com not found in GBPVR database.
OK
Adding programme extras from xmltv to TVListings database...
Updated 123 entries.
Finished.
Is this normal? (Question 1).
I am using mc2xml, then UltraXMLTV enhancer in my updateEPG script, and then calling xmltvextras in my PostUpdateEPG script. Should I be running UltraXMLTV enhancer in the PostUpdate script? (Q2 - I know this should be elsewhere, but it's only a quick y/n question Smile)
I understand what UltraXMLTV is doing (moving tags from GBPVR unreadable fields into ones it can read (e.g. into description)), but I am unsure of what xmltvextras is trying to do (and I have spent 12 hours reading wikis and forums trying to find out!)... can you possibly clarify what it actually does (and what I will gain in the TV Listings plugin) and whether I need to use it if running UltraXMLTV? (Q3).
Great work though - many thanks for your skills!

I have managed to answer Q2 & Q3 myself:
Q2 (from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ras&page=7)
Quote:Yes. It matters. Ultra must happen after a Grabber inside the UpdateEPG.bat

The only other utility that I know works in the PostUpdateEPG.bat is XmltvExtras.exe and that works much differently than Ultra.

And Q3 (from the next page in the same thread FYI)
Quote:Whether you use Ultra or not, if XmltvExtras is in the PostUpdateEPG.bat then that program will scan the xmltv file AGAIN and then add that extra information into its own database.

When you look at TV Listings, the plugin uses the GB-PVR Programme Database of course (to display the programme description and sub title etc) but it also refers to its own database, and then displays it's own extra information, in its own fields.

BUT I have a new question (call it Q4! - although it is for xmltvextras): Where does xmltvextras look for tags such as 16:9? Pre ultraxml-ing, the xmltv.xml it has it's own field e.g.
Code:
<aspect>16:9</aspect>
but post ultraxml it is moved to:
Code:
<category lang="en">16:9</category>
Do you know where xmltvextras will look for this field please?

Many thanks, you are doing god's work here. Go in peace. Praise Jeebus Smile

Hi,

q1:
when xmltvextras prints out that a channel can't be found in the gbpvr database, this mostly happens because the tool was not run directly after gbpvr has updated its epg, or a channel in the xmltv file is not yet mapped to a capture source in gbpvr.

q4:
the xmltvextras utility detects and uses only the xmltv elements as described at the wiki page, so it would use your "aspect" example if it would not have been moved away by another tool.
