Here are the logs from using the moonlight components. According to the source code it returns an error during the "capGraph.RenderStream" function (line 575). Thanks for your help.
ahh, my brain was offline - you can't pick the capture pin on the video card as your audio source. Either choose Audio, or if you don't have this option choose your audio card and select Line Input (or where the loopback cable is connected)
Thanks normanr, this sorted it. After installing K-Lite Codec pack for decoding I can record and timeshift etc. now.
The recording playback is a bit 'jerky' but I can live with this unless you have a tip for me to try to improve it. My card was the Leadtek TV2000 XP Expert if you need it for future reference.
Anyway thanks for all your help, and my commendation on all your hard work on this.

normanr, I got no luck with the intervideo encoder. Every time I try to record, the gbpvr gives me the "Fail to communicate..." error.
anyway, the plugin works fine with the moonlight encoder. I will stick with it.
There is one more thing I'd like to know. The plugin puts a full load on my cpu (Celeron T 1G@1.2G) while recording. Is this normal?? Since the recording is at 320*240, I don't think it needs that much cpu time to do it. At least my tv card's bundle software takes only half load for the same quality.

You might try setting ForceHighPriorityRecordingService to true.

Surprise, surprise.

The encoder is probably encoding at 320x320 (don't ask), but maybe setting ForceHighPriorityRecordingService to true will help?
When I get around to the next version, you will be able to pick the quality settings to encode at.
And when I selected the WDM Software Encoder and clicked settings it gave me an error, but I clicked ignore and the settings window popped up. Everything looked fine in there except the âRecording Sourceâ list has nothing in it, that may or may not be normal, I donât know.
Now hereâs the real problem, when I try to watch TV, it says âError: Unspecified Errorâ
It seems like the Win-TV GO doesn't have a CrossBar device. The CrossBar is usually used to route antenna, s-video, and composite. Obviously the Win-TV GO only has tuner - and so no crossbar.
I'm not sure if/when I might have time to get around to having a look at this one, but it's much easier to implement than output quality settings. I'm having waay to much fun with Jabber, Psi, and Irc at the moment.
