Hiya Zehd,

I figured that delay thing out too, but it doesn't really help. What does seem to happen when playing a XVID encoded AVI is the following:
- Zprocess starts transcoding
- A MVPxxxx.mpg file appears in the d:\xx\yy directory, but it's invariably 441 kB in size
- Zprocess finishes transcoding
- The MVP starts playing the file, and it is in the correct aspect ratio! Unfortunately, due to the file only being 441kB it is over after about 8 seconds with a resolution of 384*288 pixels.

I tried to remove as much settings from the Zprocess transcode tab to get to this result. I can start the playing but Zprocess always stops transcoding almost immediately and leaves about 8 seconds of transcoded and playable file. If I start the playback and pause it immediately I can see the MVPxxxx.mpg file on the hard drive. Come to think of it, I haven't tried it with some different DVIX versions, must try some more.

The transcoding itself creates the right aspect ratio though, that part is fine Smile Also it appears that all 1 minute transcoding that I make manually work fine. So Zprocess should be able to just run the entire file, but somehow it stops after like half a second.

Try a different xvid file. Try running the RemoveZProcess.reg file to default everything and then start over. Just change the output dimenesions and see how that works...

Also, how many secs does it take to encode 1 minute...?

Well, I decided to just take the easy route out and use the standard Hauppauge software to play back the AVIs. It's not the greatest interface but at least it plays it all. (except one, which somehow crashes the MVP)

And to your question: It takes about 25 seconds to manually transcode a minute of XVID AVI. This should be way fast enough get a head start, especially if I set the playback delay at 10,000 ms.

Yes this should be fast enough. But I have noticed that if my computer can't get better than 20 secs, the MVP crashes...

I didn't mind the Hauppauge software, and even used some stuff on here that would make swicthing back and forth easier. I wasn't happy with som AVIs not filling the screen and displaying with a ton of cropping...

Anyway, I'm sorry that it wasn't working for you. There must have been something else in play, if original ffmpeg from GB-PVR works better than ZProcess.

Thanks for trying...

- I tested the first release and I had some problems with freezing and such, but the newest version works great. My only wish is that it could do the same thing for .mpg files as well. Some of my .mpg files are still being displayed on the top half of the screen. Anyway good work. Peace ;t

Well I thought I would give this a go but didn't get far. When I try to run the ffmpeg executable I get an error message saying "misssing comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependencies...".

I installed the the VB6 runtime files but it made no difference. BTW I am using all the zprocess files downloaded off the wiki 24 Jul 2006.

Suggestions?

I think you can select an MPG and then transcode to MPg with different aspect ratios. It wouldn't be automatic, you'd have to do it from the program not GB-PVR...

Your MPGs are squishing because their format is just incompatible with the MVPs display. A re format should work.

Thanks for playing

Interesting.... I just had a crash, and had to reinstall everything. Whe I got around to ZProcess. I got the same error. Got a blush on the face too as I realized that other people would have the same issue...

Anyway, I included the ocx in the zip file on my wiki page, and updated the installer..

Basically download, unzip, and install again...

Let me know how you make out

Thanks!

BTW, to re-install would I first need to run the registry cleaning bat?

Actually, it shouldn't be necessary if you are new to ZProcess in the last week...

But it never hurts. What the reg cleaning bat does is strip out Every setting from ZProcess, Past and Present...
