Eric89GXL,
Are you having any difficulty scanning or adding CHs in the OnAir program? I just scanned in the OnAir app, and the signal level is very low today for some reason, and only picked up 1/4 of the channels it should have. (Testing on a Comcast connection. Will try an amplifier tomorrow.)

When I tried the GB-PVR application, it only picked up 1 channel this time! I am 99% sure it was working in the latest version of GB-PVR, as I wiped the installation and program directory clean before installing the new version.

A few days ago when I scanned, the channels that worked previously had a strength in the 16000-18000 range (Quality was -21315 as you see.)

sub, I enabled the PSI logging on my scan, and the logs are nearly identical (except where Comcast has re-arranged on their end.)

I have attached 2 files here...
- 1 set of logs when we were working on this (prior to final release), when it worked
and..
- 1 set of logs I just ran, with problems due to low signal levels, I presume

I can provide the PSI log if necessary, but it is pretty much identical to what we saw during testing.

Thanks,
- Ryan Pertusio

FOLLOW-UP: The OnAir Program is showing a SNR of about 21dB, where previously it showed 29-33dB. After repeatedly trying to scan, eventually some came through. MY issue is related to a low SNR value, and I have no idea what changed. As I stated above, I'll try an amplifier. Eric, I would check out your signal levels in the OnAir Program as well.

The OnAir program works perfectly. As you recommended, I re-scanned channels with the OnAir, and it found all of my previous channels and added several new ones the cable company must have put in.

The OnAir reports a signal level of 31-33 dB consistently on all the channels I've checked. I'm stumped.

I'll post another patch soon, which will hopefully give me more info on what is happening.

Can you please try the attached patch? If it doesnt work, please post the c:\psi.log, Config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log.

It's finding channels now. Good work. I'm curious--what did you change that made it work? (I have a background in programming.) Do you still want the logs?

A small change I made for DVB support broke it. I'm not in an ATSC country, so dont test it often and didnt notice.

So no I can tune channels in the config and set them to EPG channels. When I go to Live TV to watch the one channel I mapped, I get an "Error: Failure playing back file." Any suggestions there?

EDIT: I fiddled with some decoder settings and got it to play. Thanks for the help.

Can someone explain this QAM stuff?

As I understand it, the cable can be connected directly to this device (bypassing the STB) and then GBPVR can scan for channels?

QAM = unencrypted cable? Does QAM apply to dishes?
