Installing this patch has improved usability, the problem occurs a lot
less often . . .

. . . but still occurs.

Bye!

I suggest waiting until sub's next release and then if the problems persist we can try some other things.

I am still also experiencing the same problems from time to time. Problem with slow to remote is less acute now. When it happened at one time, I did not touch the remote until the show had ended. Then the queue of key presses got processed and the GUI came alive.
The disconnects (or MVP reboots) are now the biggest issue I have. Even with the patch.

Has anyone hooked up Ethereal or some other network analyser? That may yield something.

In recent days I have been investigating the issue, and talking with Hauppauge engineers in Taiwan and the UK. I should have some more info for you in the next few days.

There is a lot of info in these threads... but while we're at it, and I do not remember seeing it, but it can take a lot of time for the mvp to show the GBPVR UI again after an unexpected disconnect. On my system it may take up to half a minute or so. In comparison, when the system is started first time it is just seconds.
To me, it seems that the disconnect only happens while interacting. Not spontaneous in the middle of a show. Yesterday, it happened a few times, e.g. when I stepped out from the recording menu.

Yes! The same for me.

It then tries and re-tries to re-connect. It's quite long.

Very often, I end-up to unplug the power of the MVP in order to restart the whole thing. It's faster.

Bye!

The new server in 1.0.8 should be much faster at showing the UI after a disconnect.

The disconnects should also happen a lot less often with this new server.

New server does seem much improved Sub, it does connect faster and so far seems much more solid. The only time I have seen an MVP reboot regularly is if I turn on the MVP and try going to the tv guide or recordings right away. Give it the usual time to start up and settle in and it seems solid as a rock. Big improvement, Thank you! Big Grin

Thanks Sub !!!

I'll try it this week.

Do you mean the problem still exist with this version ?

What have you identified with Hauppauge engineers ?

Thanks!

Bye!
