i tried it on another MCE2005 but same thing...
both are setup with just local channels, one with a hvr1600 and both tuners doing analog channel lineups with guide fully populated...
is there any logs you want? i couldn't find anything relevant in event man.

I've found out that some of the namespace/method names have changed between 05 and vista. Once I finish the development, I will back port it which should only take an extra hour or so.

I've decided to break it into two programs: One for just grabbing the current EPG and a second program that you can run if you want multiple lineups. The
first program will be a simple command line app that simply does a conversion on the current database.

here's a nice little util i found that lets you run queries on MCE database and export xml..Smile even lets you edit the MCE data as well..
just thought it might be of interest..

i found that the ver 2.0 won't work on MCE 2005...ver 1.0 does tho..
2.0 should work too..wondering if it's a MCE rollup2 issue? [i have it installed]
[2.0 works on vista as well]

Should be for a few years anyway since they are not releasing anything but security fixes for 05. So as long as 05 is supported, the data should not change.

Just an update on this. I have been working on cataloguing all the data into strong types and am nearly finished. Once that is done, it is just a matter of outputting it into an XMLTv compliant file.

So far, I have the following data:
Channel info.
Program start/stop time.
Program title/subtitle/description.
Program credits: Actor/Host/Director/Guest. (Producer/Writer info is not available.)
Genres.
US Ratings. (I need to download a Canada lineup to get their ratings.)
US Advisories. (See above for Canada.)
Star Rating.
Episode Number. (on-screen)
Language.
Air Date.

I still have to catalogue minor things like stereo, hdtv, aspect ratio, premiere, etc.
Also have to back port it to MCE05.

This app will read the current MCE guide listings. Once I finish it, I will write a second app that will be a downloader for those who want multiple listings.

mvallevand is right. It's now in the dev forum. I've posted a vista version of the epg to xml converter, not the downloader yet. And I think I may have gotten it back ported. I'll be posting a test build tomorrow. As for the source, I'm not sure yet if I will be releasing this one publicly.
