jdg Wrote:Thanks for the app. I'm trying it for Canada but it fails to download any programs after the setup. If I select channel "200 & 201" nothing downloads and sometimes I get this COM error. However, if I select channel "50 & 51" something does download, but if I select "Download Detailed" as well, it gets the COM error. I think this was because of cookies (or lack thereof). Can't block them in IE or weird things happen.

I have recently tried v.31 of the scraper and I have found that if I select
Download Detailed data for the first 36 hours the program crashes somewhere in the middle of the download. I am trying to obtain data for 125 channels. It does not crash if the "Download Detailed data for the first 36 hours" is left unchecked. But it is the details that make the EPG data most useful. UPDATE: 12 Aug I tried downloading again today and it successfully pulled down program data for all 125 channels selected. Seems to be working fine now. Works great for me.

I recently tried using your program. Looks like it might be what I've been looking for. However, there's a channel missing from my provider's list of channels. It shows on the msn tv listing site. It just doesn't appear as a selectable channel in channel list of your scraper.
My postal code is v2a-1x7. Thanks for your work

Each way gives slightly different channels (thanks MS.. ), so you can pick the one that works for you. If you need satellite from one and cable from another, set up a batch file with two different settings files called, as described in the planet replay thread.

Has anyone been able to run this using the command line so that within the GBPVR config, you simply need to specify the following command:
MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.33 /s Settings_yourXMLSettingsFile.xml /d Everytime I try to even run it directly from the command line I get a COM message. This message appears even with Cookies set to allow all. I also tried to put this into the configuration, but it's possible that GBPVR doesn't allow us to automatically run the program, which is why I can't get EPG data that way. Also, once the COM error occurs, I can't even run the GUI version of the program without having the COM error continue to occur.

Hi, yes I have reports that it is working from a few people.
To try to help, first delete all files and folders except the exe, this should clean up the temp files it makes and start you fresh. If you run the GUI version, enter your settings and click 'Download Listings' does it work for you? It will create an XML file in its directory, named according to your provider selection. Also, any messages in the XMLOut.log will be helpful in solving your problem. As a test, after selecting your channels and settings simply click save settings. This will save to the default Settings.xml file. then run the program only with the /d switch. You should see the tool icon appear in your taskbar while it is running. There should only be one instance of it running at a time. let us know what you find..

Thanks for the tool. I did what you have suggested and deleted everything and started the tool from scratch, here are the results.
Test #1: Using the GUI, I entered my postal code (canada), selected my provider (local antenna), then selected all the channels. I clicked the download listings w/o the detail icon checked and it created the XML file with the name. With the GUI everything works fine, no COM error. Log file doesn't show anything special other than it ran properly. Test #2: Cleaned everything out again, started from scratch. In the GUI, I put my postal code in, selected provider and choose applicable channels. Clicked the download listings, it ran fine again. Clicked the save settings, which as you said saved to the default Settings.xml file. Closed the GUI program. Went to my command line and typed in MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.33 /d I saw the GUI icon appear in the system tray as it was running, nothing appeared in the taskbar. It tried to run, then I received the COM error, same as the one posted above. The log file doesn't show anything other than what happened when I ran it from the GUI and saved the setting, which was the last entry in the log. The XML file that was to be created is now blank. The way I figure it for now, as long as I run in the GUI format, it will work. For some reason, from the command line, it doesn't seem to work because of the COM error. Downloaded your source to see if I could figure out where it would likely be erroring out, but I must admit that AutoIT is brand new to me. Could it be the version that I'm using? I noticed that the EXE that extracted said V.33, whereas the ZIP said it was supposed to be V.32

Hmm, the program should run exactly the same both ways. The error indicates that it can't read from a temporary XML file that it should have created. Does it create temporary files in the XMLTempFolder? Does the command line and gbpvr on your system run with the permissions to create, read, modify, and write to files in the directory where you have placed this program?
