When you say reconfigure do you mean with gbpvr or with another software?

When in the GB-PVR Config program and I click create source the select WDM software Encoder, when I click setup this is when I get the error. the error is "class not registered" I don't know if this helps.

okay here's another build with more debugging info that might help track down where the config is failing.

btw: the config log you posted doesn't have any Software Recorder config items, it looks like you ran the config to refresh your ZapIt data?

I was looking in the wrong file, (would explain why i couldn't find the line it was breaking in). It seems it's breaking when it tries to create an instance of a component it's just listed. How odd. Maybe the extra debugging in version 7 will help.

Hi, I;m something of a newcomer round these parts, so excuse me if I say something stoopid!!

OK< I'm trying out GB-PVR on my PC prior to building a HTPC. Trouble is, my TV/Capture card is not on the list of those that will work with it (I have a Tevion Xpert 7134), but having looked over this thread, I downloaded the attaschment on page 2 and put the .dll's into the plug-in folder. Went back to the config and my card was showing in the WDM software/encoder option-chose that, updated the EPG (Using BLEB-I'm in the UK). All so far so good.

Started up GB-PVR again, but although I get options to view watch or record from the EPG, when I click on record, it creates the file on my HDD, but doesn't record anything.

I must admit, I've not done anything yet with regards to the MPEG encoder, which is probably why nothing recorded, but i'm just looking for confirmation that everything i've done so far is going on the right direction. And what else I need to do

I also have a Skystar2 satellite tuner card, and that uses the Elecard MPEG encoder (It's a 'fully working' version)-can I just copy the file over from that into the GB-PVR folder?

UPDATE to message above, I can now click through the EPG and get a live picture...but the tuner isn't displaying the right channel!

Any idea how I tune the channels in for GB-PVR, and how I let the EPG know which is which?

you can just edit the channel numbers in the list displayed at the bottom of the capture source config dialog

Right, got you I think..only one problem, I made what's technically known as 'A Balls Up' and had to uninstall and re-install GB-PVR again since my last message, and at the moment, if I click on Live TV or choose to record from the EPG, I'm getting this error message

"No coonection could be made because the target actively refused it"

On this re-install I've used the files in V6 rather than the earlier one-I followed the instructions, and I've put the files in the gbpvr file from the download into the main installed gbpvr folder,  though what are you supposed to do with the files in the 'Source' folder (and what do I do with the file called COPYING and if you are going to use an MPEG encoder like ELECARD, does this need to go somewhere  in the GBPVR file too?

Many thanks for this help

source is all the source code for people who want to know how it works, and to change what happens. copying and install and readme are purly information files, read them :-)

btw: if you get error messages, try and post the .log files from whatever you were doing at the time (eg gbpvr, recordingservice or config), they help tons.

btw: my guess on the 'No connection could be made because the target actively refused it' is that the recording service isn't running, just restart it and all should be well again.
