epete I guess this will depend if this is a problem on the PC or via the PCH?

sub's right though, if you have PCH problems post on the other forum.

It has been a week since I have been able to make time to get this set-up. I have been working on an older machine and plan to discontinue work on this machine. I will now try and do a fresh install on a newer machine and see if there is any improvement.

alright, I am ready to try again on a laptop. I have followed all of the steps in the guide I put together, with the exception of my expired, schedulesdirect account.

My preference is to get GB-PVR working again without the scheduler. and then if I am able to get it working again, I will turn on the scheduler. Is that possible or do I need to turn on the scheduler first?

This process has been a little more difficult than I thought it would be, but I really want to get it working.

(I am not sure how to bring up a live program without the scheduler. When I select Live TV, the screen stays blank)

You pretty much have to setup an EPG (even if its set to 'none' and you manually add the channels). Everything is based on channels, and without an EPG there is no channels to watch.

OK, its working. It looks like I have my 40 plus channels back. I am not sure what the problem was. I can't imagine loading everyything on a new PC would improve the reception on a remote tuner card...

My next step is to confirm I can record and playback, which I was never able to do on the old machine.

The problem I was having with HD Programming stuttering is also resolved with this new machine.

I successfully recorded a program. The program now has a meaninful file size. (As you may recall my old machine only created two zero byte files).

So, I am still having issues getting GB-PVR to playback these files. I would think that the MPV Video Decoder that I installed would play them but they dont play using the GB-PVR PVRX2 GUI or Windows Media Player. Any suggestions?

Also wonderiing the significants of the two same sized files.

I see that these files are DVR-MS format. I also found on the Config menu that I can auto convert to multiple formats. I have set to convert to MPEG2. I will now give it a try. What options do others prefer? My goal is to preserve HD Quality recordings for playback on my Popcornhour.
