Well, i am not sure if i am not wrong...
Latest versions of MPC-HC player have integrated TV tuner support and it is using "MpegSplitter.ax" instead of MS demultiplexer. This combination have no issue for using h.264 and MPEG-2 TV stream + MPC DXVA video decoder.
I have no idea how to force GB-PVR to use "MpegSplitter.ax" instead of MS demultiplexer - somebody should try it if it will be working Smile
BTW, latest version of MPC video decoder now support DXVA for MPEG-2 too, can be great free solution.

I think it's related to this similar discussion here http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=13...ount=10405 (where ffdshow's new dxva decoder is not working with some demux filters)

Something about the demux needing to deliver an 'Access Unit per Media Sample' instead of regular ES packets.

There is zero chance its going to work with this other splitter. There is piles and piles of code in GB-PVR that programmatically controls the Microsoft Demultiplexer when doing live tv and .ts playback. All of that would need to be rewritten to use another demultiplexer, and that would be a huge job.

Ah yeah, that would make sense but beyond my c++ abilities.

It actually sounds like they did make a patch for the mpc-hc video decoder to accommodate this, but it didnt become part of the main release: http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=13...ount=10399

I found a nicer description of the problem:

"MPC Video Decoder has no Access Unit parser for VC-1 and H.264, thus, leaving this work up to the splitter, only working with a handful of 'em (MPC and Haali). Put in other words.. the decoder expects the splitter to deliver one complete Access Unit per media sample."

That change is part of the trunk so it should be in any 1540+ build at http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player-cla...ma-x86-x64 unless it was removed later. It should at least be in the 1540 build in any case. Has anyone tried it?

Its been a few months since I've tried, so its possible that change its in there and fixed it. I'm abit busy today, but I'll try to take a look tomorrow. If any one else tries it in the mean time, I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

I can'teven get the MPC Video Decoder to connect with MPEG-2. Tested with 1557.

I'll test it as soon as I find which hard drive I used to store my H.264 samples.
