Unfortunately I just can't seem to work it out, I think you skin gurus keep some of this stuff hidden in special xmls and you only revel them when I snatch a pebble from you hand or something

I was trying to get the CS layout to operate kind of like Mixman's Mayhem. So media folders that contain other folders show a media folder (with the relevant music/vid/pic folder graphic). Then folders that contain files, show a parent folder and the others have a media icon (again music/vid/pic), this could be formatted so that any file thumbnail is large enough to cover any media icon used.

In this scenario I think we'd only need, (media)icon and (media)folder selections in the plugin (with different styles and the transparent option)

I hope that makes sense.

are "Hard-coded" by sub in his library screens to be displayed if these files exist. There is no xml control for these.

Can you give a screen shot of what you are trying to replicate? I haven't downloaded Mayhem3 so I do not know if I follow your description.

The same graphic would work for both, but presently it'd have to be copied into both the video library and music library folders. We could move the reference to the _CoreImages folder (in the xmls)and only need one copy, but that might break compatibility with sub's Blue xml formatting. Fatman_do might want to weigh in on that one.

I think since our xml's are going to be radically different than the options in blue or slick, we could map them to _CoreImages.

Looking at the common images list I think these are separate because the UpDownButtons are actual buttons while the MoreItemsButtons (should be renamed as are not actually buttons) are just left / right arrows.

Am I right in thinking that for more items up/down then you use the Up/Down buttons? Not all plugins have these as actual buttons mind so it doesn't make sense to make them look like buttons. So perhaps they could be merged into one EditableSkinItem - with a name like "ListIndicators" or something. And the files it edits are: More_Left.png, More_Right.png, Up.pnd and Down.png.

I have been hard-coding the white L/R and U/D arrows in plugins that use those instead of buttons. I was doing this as a temp affect for now. I wouldn't mind keeping More_Up and More_Down, More_Left, and More_Right as non-buttons. UP.png and Down.png as buttons.

If by unsupported you mean those which will not have CS4 skin files for then no, they shouldn't be on the list.

A theme developer can just supply a transparent task image for a category they don't want to create an image for. I'm kinda against marking any thing as core/optional as we don't want the CS to end up like some other skins. I think the high level of 3rd party plugin support it has is one of the killer features.

I see you've been busy on the wiki page history - let me know when you've finished so I can add a TaskImages section to the SkinPluginConfig.xml file.
