No that would be a waste of time, since nothing changed. The fact that volume wasn't working for you seems to me to indicate that you had the old version.

i''d try anything at this point, cuz it's not really usable like this...
and it used to work so perfectly...
i remember there was something you had to do [or not do] last time when you went to pch2 ver to make it work...[maybe fit to width and not height for 4:3? or something like that]

ironic thing is, i have no need for aspect control on sd, it's all 4:3 always...

is there any way to lock it into fit mode for everything? or specify aspect on cmd line?

The problem isn't HD vs SD, it is the 4:3 setting. There's nothing you can do other than let me look into it. The "best" version of component 4:3 is still available on the Director's Cut link.

thanx, i'd really appreciate that...
having hard time getting it to think i have a 16/9 set...my tv can emulate it, but when i set it on nmt setup, it doesn't seem to care...i got it to work on hd once...but now i can't for the life of me..same behavior as 4:3...trying 16:10 in nmt setup now..doing full power yank restarts...
maybe i should change the settings in config? [height/width]
will keep trying to see if can get anythign else going...

btw, loving the mvp remote bit...forgot how much i love that thing! really performs better than nmt remote, it picks it up from more angles..

I have updated mvpmcx2 once again to use the proper Fill/Full/Crop control on 4:3 monitors as reported by pBS

As an added bonus I was able to figure out how to make the crop stretch the 4x3 centre of a 16x9 video.

installed newest version and tried to analyse my music-problem again.
after clean startup of gbpvr

- if i immediately play one of my "wma's" (using ok or eject)
=> pch-player is started and song is played ok.
=> after stopping i cant play mp3's (no sound) and also no more wma's.

- if i immediately play my "mp3's" (using ok)
=> song is played ok
=> after stopping i can play more of my mp3's
=> but cant play wma's (no sound and pch-player is not started).

- after first unsuccessful try to play a wma
=> mp3 playback doesn't work anymore (no sound)
=> wma's don't play
=> i also can't playback any video using pch-player anymore (pressing eject makes gpbvr hang)

had some problems producing logs on pch but still some of them included...

Thanks ok I thought WMA would be like FLAC but that is not the case. There are are couple of things going wrong on the server-side. The server is forcing the media socket to close which is why you are saving all those difficulties. Here is the summary

- GBPVR is trying to transcode the wma file to mp3 which doesn't work in PCH/PCH2 modes.

- That alone doesn't crash the server. It looks like the version of ffmpeg that sub distributes might be crashing on wma files too. I was using a newer version but downgraded and see an ffmpeg crash. Upgrading ffmpeg looks to be the only solution for now.

- sub really need to send playlists when multiple wma files are sent or alternatively pass the transcoded name and tell the PCH to play mp3s. If not you will see what is IMO an unacceptably lengthy time between songs. I am adding FLAC and OGG support, but WMA may never happen.

ok. i can live with that cause i have all my wma's already transcoded to mp3 due to mvp not working with wma's correctly either.

now that i know what's wrong i just avoid to play wma's.
... until one day wma's are supported correctly ...

just sending out a big thanx for the updates for 4:3 tvs...works perfectly...
volumes working great too...on my mvp remote..

a couple of things tho:
could we get the ch+/- mapped to page updown in things like guide?
[like it is on pvr150,tho i think mvp was same as this]
on most remotes a ch+ will page up where appropriate, really helps scrolling large lists on the slower interface...
just a wish,not a biggie tho cuz on some screens there's the blue/green button, but other places blue/green won't work for pageup/dn..

and here's an interesting bit, my nmt reloads from share automatically even after yanking power....
of course i help it with a meta-refreshing html page and a straight to mvpmcx2 cgi...
when the nmt boots after power yank, it goes to source screen right away, but if you wait about 15-20 secs, it loads last share and my page and hence,gbpvr..
not a single key press after poweron....
you just have to be patient at source screen as networking finishes loading..
no hard drive or stick in nmt...powered off with either mvpmcx2 loaded or on my html page.
i only have a single share setup, but i think it remembers last source always,same as with usb or hard drive...last successful source loaded will always be tried first...
just wondering if you get same results as i see lots of people looking for auto-load and having to go to a drive of some kind...
no auto-load obviously when server is shut down or suspended...
edit: just timed it, exactly 30 secs after source screen appears, my share's page loads..
now i don't have to keep the other remote handy, as this loads lircd also..
anything customizable about the mvp remote mappings?
