mvpmcx2p Update 2012-03-25

McBainUK has been doing a nice job getting the NMT pages on the wiki going and combined with the forthcoming demise of mvpmc.org, it's time to do an update. This version takes a few fixes and patches I have released and attached to forum posts over the past months.

- few checks for changes is stop/stop behaviour in NPVR
- patched to work with the YouTube plugin
- accept tinyurl shortened url's
- "Play All" video would not see stops on on mpeg files
- New feature mvpmcx2 supports mp3 audio file seeking from NextPVR SetPosition() Nothing uses this yet, it is working nicely in the next MusicBox4.

The mvpmcx2 support files will now be available on the wiki http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Client.NMT NMTInstall2 has been updated to get its support file from the wiki too.

Thanks it's a minor update getting ready for mpvmc.org to die, but I find NextPVR and mvpmcx2 are working very well together these days.

Indeed....I tried WMC/Xbox360 and although flashy and fast from a UI perspective, it pales in comparison to what this combo does... When I found it it cannot even play an .mkv file.....somewhat useless

I've update the wiki with a newer version of mvpmcx2p.7z available through direct download or NMTInstall2

- pause sent immediately to native player.
- can skip while paused.
- improved logic for files with PTS resets.
- hitting the Audio key while video is playing forces are re-scan for audio and video PID's
- fixed a FF/RW bug introduced in March 11th mvpmcx2

Most versions of mvpmcx2 supports the FF/RW logic change in 2.4.3. With this feature you can use FF/RW to move faster than play as an alternative to short skip. It is best with SD (8x) and 720p (5x) however it is only 2x with 1080i. You can experiment with this yourself by changing the option on the NextPVR config MVP tab.

Just tried it and it works great. I didn't know about the FF/RW function that is alternative to short skip. I much prefer it to zero in on what to look for.

Thanks again Martin for your continuing efforts to support/enhance your code for us. The A110 has been the best tech purchase I have made in the last decade partly because of your work.

Thanks jt25741, I like my A110 better than any of my extenders, and sub did a lot to make sure that it works. I like the new FF/RW myself but it does take getting used to again, I never really used short skip before it wasn't worth the effort.

Great work Martin. I assume the 8x,5x,2x are hard coded for performance reasons. In any case this is a great feature.

A strange thing happens....if I activate the FF feature it works as expected. The RW feature kicks me out of the play mode entirely. Has anyone else experienced this?
