Yes … On the NextPVR "server" machine (i.e. the machine that will do the recording), follow the instructions in your link for "Sharing Files using basic settings" and share the \Users\Public\NPVR folder … I expect that Windows will suggest a sharename of NPVR … Set the permissions to Read/Write

On the client machine .. use \\computername\NPVR as the database share (using the correct name for your computer).

Edit: Microsoft have added some extra protection to file sharing in recent versions of Windows … posy again if you are not getting it to work … it will be because of some complication that Microsoft have added.

Graham,
I did all you suggested above and still I am not able to have Nextpvr client talk to the Nextpvr server. I however can internet explorer from a remote computer into the server with the shared address provided from the server.
What can I be going wrong?

If you open Windows Explorer on the client, and set the address to the share you've set in NextPVR (like "\\servername\share"), do you see the files from your server (including npvr.db3)? If not, then you've got set your share correctly.

This is the server. I deleted the client from my machine for now...

Enclosed are the client logs you requested.
When I boot up Nextpvr client I get a "unable to communicate with server" error.
Strange thing is I can see all the channels I have on the server in the channels tab in settings, as well as my recordings that are also on the server.
Please help.

This usually indicates you've got the "Database Share" set correctly, but not the "Server Name". Make sure you've just entered the name or IP address, no slashes or other characters. If you're using the name, and it's not working, try the ip address instead.

Also, when changing these specific settings, you should restart NextPVR.
