Hi Sub and mvallevand. I got a little impatient with the whole thing today and reinstalled NextPVR and re-added my iptv xcode. This time the video plays on both... And the icons work for every channel. The 2 things that I did differently this time was: 1. Disabled all of the bells and whistles in bitdefender while installing Nextpvr and adding my iptv channels. 2. Going through the list of channels carefully. Reducing the number of channels to about 500.
In Kodi, before reinstalling Nextpvr desktop / server / tray, I uninstalled the nextpvr addon. Then I uninstalled the textures13.db file and the "thumbnails" folder. However, when I reinstalled the addon the channel icons are still not working. Maybe I should make a new thread in the Kodi section of the forum now? *(My theory is still that the "|" character in the channel names is messing things up because the image filenames don't/can't be the same.)
pvr.nextpvr caches the images in the userdata/addon_data/pvr.nextpvr folder any of those non image files will be cached there and need to be deleted. If you are running Matrix there is an option to delete all channel icons somewhere, if you can't access the folder yourself.
I'd still be patient and wait for sub but reducing the channel list is going to help your experience a lot.

That's strange. I don't have that folder.
Nevermind. I just used the pvr for a couple minutes. Checked again and the folder is there. But it only contains a settings.xml file. I am noticing better artwork for shows now though.

Hey... Your comment about Matrix got me thinking: "Why not update Kodi while I wait" ... After the update, suddenly 75% of the Icons are working!
Thanks Sub, and Martin for all your help! Now to fix up those missing icons!
If you browse that channel.list url I give you before you can find the missing 25% because they should show <icon>false</icon> If it shows true and is still missing then it is probably a corrupt file in media/channels.

Problem solved! Just had to remove some trailing spaces before the .png (" .png" instead of ".png". Bulk Rename Utility made quick work of that.
Thanks again for your help!!
Just got into these new nextpvr settings in kodi. Time to look up what some of these things do.
